I Wanna Wake Up in Texas..!

Have you ever seen the Texas episode of SpongeBob??? Where Sandy is feeling homesick so SpongeBob & Patrick throw her a big party & she sings her awesome TEXAS SONG!? Well, I sing that song all the time- especially when I'm headed home. I just can't wait to fly home and "wake up in Texas." <3 nbsp="" p="">
I had been planning this trip back home for several months now. There was a lot of things I had to take care of, aside from visiting my family and friends, of course. A major part of the trip was getting my Bridesmaid Dress! The last time I was in San Antonio I had been measured and finally the dresses were here! They're so pretty and look wonderful on all the girls. Now all I need to do is find heels to go with and get it trimmed (by a lot).
Along with the wedding, I had to be a buffer between Sarah, Bride-to-Be, and her hair stylist, my mother! It was an idea I threw out there several months ago as well, but neither of them had gotten up the courage or taken the initiative to talk things over with the other person. So, in order to get the ball rolling, I offered to arrange a meeting between the two of them. It's understandable, of course. My mom has known Sarah since she was in high school with my sister, but she's my friend. I'm glad I was able to get them together to work things out!

Then, of course, I couldn't forget about my sister! I really wanted to try and be back in Texas in September, so that I could celebrate her birthday! Suzette's birthday is September 14th, and sure it's way early, but I wanted to do something with her! We managed to work it all out that she would drive from El Paso (she literally just moved there a month ago) the very same weekend I was visiting. Even if there were a few complications, I'm glad she managed to make it..!

And last, but most certainly, not least: San Japan! I used to go every year with the Harkiewiczes, but I had to miss last year! Everything I had to take care of in San Antonio revolved around the convention0 because WHY NOT!? And with so much happening the past week, here's a full rundown of the days I was home...

Wednesday, August 30th:
I usually take early flights from Orlando to Texas in order to spend more time with the family, but there really was no point this time around. With Mom working and Nicky at school, there wasn't anyone to pick me up (A), and B, I wouldn't have anyone to hang out with... So this time around, I got to leave in the afternoon! It was an easy flight. It was the 1st time I flew with JetBlue, and I am certainly a fan! They're quite cheap and they have excellent Guest Service: Free TV Service, lovely Attendants, and lots of really great snacks!
In order to bring just my one carry-on luggage, I made sure to keep two big items out: my Kigurumi and Hogwarts Robe. People kept giving me weird looks. I walked onto the plane carrying both of them, pretending one was my jacket and the other a blanket, haha. But midway through the flight I got cold... Aaaand, after much debate, I slipped on the Kigu! The older gentlemen next to me kept looking over. I really thought he was thinking me mad, but when we were disembarking, he spoke to me. He loved the Kigu and thought it was a brilliant idea to bring it along!
After several flights now, I've come to the realization that FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, flight to Austin are waaaaay cheaper than to San Antonio. (WHY?) Luckily, Austin is only about an hour from home, so I waited till my mom picked me up. We spent the whole drive home talking about everything that was new, discussing dinner plans, and listening to her favorite country jams. You know, one of my absolute favorite things about being home, is getting to eat some home cooked meals.  It's all I ever want. But, of course, my mom bugged me the whole way home asking what kind of food I wanted her to make. Lol

Thursday, August 31st:
In light of everything happening in Houston with the Hurricane, my mother was almost called away to assist with the Relief Team. Although it would have been fantastic for her to have gone and assisted, she never got called in all weekend. There seemed to have been too many nurses already flown into the Eastern Region of Texas affected by the Hurricane. Instead, she remained in San Antonio as assisting nurse in the shelters they opened downtown. I really must do a shout out to her and the other Relief Team Members that put in such a wonderful effort. That's true Texan Pride, right there. I even learned that H-E-B was a main contributor to supplying those in need all over the region... it's times like these, I'm proud to have grown up in the Lone Star State. <3 nbsp="" p="">Meanwhile, Nicky was at school and I stayed home watching TV, playing video games, and relaxing. Lol It was really nice after working for over 2weeks straight. Mom & I wound up at the mall, having our very own girl's day out. We shopped mostly with our eyes, discussed some wedding details, ate lots of sweets and candies, and even got a facial from Origins. She took me to visit the brand new, and totally GREEN H-E-B Super Market that opened up near our house. And I am in LOVE. With all the new healthy options available, and even some "make your own organic peanut butter" stations- I know that when I'm home, I'll definitely be a frequent visitor! And by the end of the day, I was packed and ready with all my cosplay & snacks necessary for an awesome Con Weekend!

Friday-Sunday, Sept. 1st-3rd:
SAN JAPAN WEEKEND! Con Weekend are always a blast! Friends, Family, Nerds! What more can you ask for??? Lots of things happened this weekend (sort of), and it certainly deserves it's very own Blog Post! So Stay-Tuned!

Monday, September 4th:
SOMEHOW, I wound up doing my absolute favorite day on this Labor Day: Chilling with the Family, staying inside, and watching ANIME. That's right! I got my family hooked on my current obsession with My Hero Academia!! After having to say by to Suzette and the babies, Mom literally ran back inside so we could watch more of the episodes! Lol I love my family.
We watched a few episodes together, before I had to drag mom mom out to meet with Sarah and her fiancé, James. We, of course, visited the local Starbucks (where else are you supposed to have meetings??) We sat and talked wedding details for about an hour before we said our farewells. And within a couple weeks the two of them had settled on a look for the wedding! So proud of the two of them! And after returning home, Mom forced me to put on the next episodes of My Hero. We got through pretty much about half of the 1st Season, and spent the next couple days finishing it up...!

Tuesday, September 5th:
It was a struggle to wake up early in the mornings, especially since I was on "vacation." But it was well worth it. Nicky drove for me! How strange to think that he's old enough to be driving a car and actually receiving his Permit! Not my little brother!
After I returned home, I got to spend the rest of the day with Mum. She even wanted to watch more episodes of My Hero, although we stayed up extra late just for her! Haha. And that night, we hung out for more Anime, before I had to pack up my things for the next day.

Wednesday, September 6th:
Always the worst day of a trip- having to say goodbye. Nicky went off to school and I went off to prepare for my flight. Everything was packed a little differently (thanks, San Japan). I also had to leave behind a very important item! Carlos, my mom's fiancé, gave me a Concert Ukulele he had! But because we didn't have a hard case for safe travel, I had to leave it behind! (T^T)
SO! Without my Uke, and after a sad kiss goodbye Mum & Nick's furry babies (Link, Navi, Zelana ((Yay, Zelda Themed Dog Names!)), and Mewsette), we loaded up my things into the car. I was almost late to the airport. Thank goodness for Mom being a speed-driver and for Austin having a tiny airport. Literally, as soon as I got through Security they were calling my name. The plane had arrived early and they were ready for take-off! I boarded the plane and we were off!

And so, here I am, back in the most Magical Bubble of Orlando Theme Parks..! Most people would give their lifesavings to be here, in my shoes. But honestly, all I ever want to do is be home with my family. It's always nice to return and get back to my everyday life of work, work, work, and more work... But all I ever want to do, is wake up in Texas... <3 nbsp="" p="">

ipsy Review #GoodVibesOnly

My 1st ipsy Bag has arrived!! As mentioned before: I love beauty products & I've been so excited for starting my ipsy subscription. I wasn't too sure on what to expect since this was my very 1st month, but I can definitely say that I am satisfied..!

Makeup Bag:
A fun part about the ipsy Subscription is that the company gives out previews of the products you will be receiving, which definitely amps up the excitement as you wait. For this month, ipsy gave out 3 variations of their makeup bag. Each bag had a different color scheme and phrase: "Wild & Free" with hues of purple and red, "Peace, Love, Lipstick" with sunset ombre colors, and the lighter "Good Vibes Only." Each made in vinyl with a soft inner lining, and a golden tassle zipper. With the season coming to an end, the August Glam Bag was dedicated to partying it up under the setting summer sun!

As my 1st ipsy bag, I was really excited to find the bright golden foil package in the mail! Inside was my 1st bag: "Good Vibes Only."

The bag is an almost absolutely perfect size. I've never been the type of person to bring her makeup to work (for touch ups and what-not), but with new products coming to me every month, I decided to give it a try. The ipsy bag fits perfectly inside any bag or average sized purse and is capable of holding pretty much all of my daily makeup. Everyday when I'm getting ready, I just pile up the products I've used and easily slip it into my work bag. It's extremely convenient and super cute. I love pulling it out throughout the day and show it off to people.

*Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser:

I am an absolute sucker for Facial Cleansers. When I pulled this out of my ipsy bag, I was ecstatic! The following day I immediately put it on after waking and was sure to wash my face with it before bed. I kept the routine alive for a week straight in order to test the product. You can imagine how upset I was when I realized my skin was having a bad reaction to it..!
(T-T)
I've never heard of First Aid Beauty before, but it's supposed to be really good for all skin types, especially sensitive skin... And I don't even have sensitive skin..! The smell of the Red Clay in the Cleanser was addictive and the way it felt as it foamed on my face was real nice. If I hadn't had a bad reaction, I definitely would have bought this product again. I still don't know what was in it that made my face reddish and itchy, but after pulling myself through a week of it, I put this Deep Cleanser to the side. Sadly, not for me.

*theBalm Voyage Vol. 2:

An extremely cute sample size for an eyeshadow. Typically I use natural colors for everyday wear (more browns), or extremely vibrant shades (blues/greens/pinks) on days I want to have more fun. This shimmery gold **"Kuwakaribisha" was a happy surprise for me. It really is pretty to wear and look at, and is long-lasting for all day/night use.

Winky Lux Peeper Perfect Concealer:

I'm not one to use concealer usually everyday, I just don't see the point. This sample is a good size for me to test out the product and determine whether or not I want the full product later. Ipsy has been doing a great job at that, so far. Of course, it's always hard to get the color "just right" when you're getting a product in the mail, but it's pretty close to my skin tone. The product is super soft and light weight- definitely a fan!

*Angled Contour Brush:

This was a definite surprising product for me! I never expected to get brand new ~soft, plushy, and gorgeous~ brushes for the price I was paying. I am in love with this brush, even though I never actually contour... Lol But now I have a reason to!

*Liquid Coal Liner:

A beautifully wonderful product that I love and use all the time! I mean- eyeliner may easily be my favorite makeup product, so.... Plus, the packaging is extremely cute and well done! And everything they say about this "darker-than-dark" **Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is true! It doesn't smudge and won't run easy when wet. Takes a good couple swipes of my makeup wipe to even get it off at the end of the day. And with a thin tip, it makes perfect lines. My one complaint is how dry it seems to get when applying, making it difficult to flow easily across my eyelids. After a few tries, it's become easier, but still. Over all, love it! Especially knowing that this product from Seraphine Botanicals is completely Vegan and Cruelty Free!

All-in-all, a fan of the infamous tipsy Glam Bag I always hear talk about. I am definitely satisfied with my care: 4/5 Stars. The fun part for me is getting to try the various products to determine whether I like them and/or if they work for me. For example, the surprise with the facial cleanser: I thought it was going to be my favorite, but it was the worst simply because of the reaction my skin had..! Lol I also wish I could have picked my bag out of the 3. Although I got the "Good Vibes Only" bag, I would have preferred the other two. Sorry..! But, hey, that's part of the fun I think..! Not knowing exactly what you'll be getting until it's headed your way! Here's to the next couple months as an official ipster!

ipsy Team:
"We created three unique August Glam Bags, inspired by sparkly summer sunsets, the magic of the universe, and free spirits everywhere. We hope it fills your world with good vibes and inspires you to spread them around all month long."

Glam it UP..!

Falling Deeper and Deeper into the world of Subscriptions..!
I've heard about the notorious "iPSY Glam Bag" for years and have been curious about trying it out. Seeing as how I already had subscribed myself to one company ~Blue Apron~ I figured, why not..?
I really do love playing with makeup products, but it's not just makeup that you get from iPSY. It's Beauty Products of all sorts- from hair, skin, nails, and face- all of the above. What else is great about the products they send is that you can sample from some of the largest brands out there, including new items just coming onto the market. Depending on the product, you'll get a smaller sample size, but sometimes you also get full-sized items you would normally spend $20-$40 to take home. And not only are you paying for the random selection of beauty products, you're getting an adorable bag with it! ...I honestly think that's my favorite part about the subscription..! lol
This is my 1st month with iPSY, so hopefully I'm able to stick with it because I am just loving all the products!

AntiGravity...!

I've always been fascinated with acrobats and the beautiful circus capabilities they have flying through the air. I've always wanted to be like them! And, not gonna lie, it's most likely because I want to be a Kaleido Star!!
Ok, sure it's just an Anime Series (and an old one), but not only is it my absolute favorite and always fun to watch- it's how I got into Circus Skills in the 1st place! When I was in college and got to travel with my Movement III class to the local circus- I was on cloud 9. I loved climbing the silks and spinning in the hoop, having upside-down, and just bouncing around the area having fun! And I've missed it. I bought myself a set of juggling balls and plan to work on my Circus Skills when I have the time, but it's not enough. Then I discovered AntiGravity.
AntiGravity is an Aerial School -literally- 2minutes down the street from where I live! They offer multiple classes throughout the week: Bungee, Trampoline, Silks, Aerial Yoga, Flexibility, etc... And they are always adding and modifying their selections. It was hard trying to schedule a class around my job, but when I finally made it..? It was amazing.
I've taken several conditioning classes and I'm always looking forward to my next visit. My favorite is definitely the Bungee Classes. The harness hurt and my body is always bruised and sore, but it's just so much fun! Sure, it's expensive, but so worth it! The more classes I take the more confidant I am flipping around and holding myself inverted. I may be unable to go for a while, sadly, but as soon as I have enough money, you know where I'm headed!!

GoT Season PREMIERE..!!

When I get into a series, I fall alllll the way in..!
However, it usually takes me a while to get there after seeing the rest of the world with the same obsession. It may make me sound like a "hipster," but I hate watching/ reading a series when everyone else is into it! ...but eventually, I do...
I got into Game of Thrones after my dad told me I HAD to. He and Jenny continued to bug me until I finally sat down one night and binged the whole 1st season. And I was hooked.
Season 1 to season 2 and 3, and so on and so on. It's such a fanfuckingtastic series!! It's hot and sexy, full of beautiful images, sets, and scenaries, and the story is absolutely wonderful and intense. It's hard not to get attached to certain characters, but be careful, because no one is safe! For those with the feint of heart, this may not be the series for you; but if you can manage blood, gore, sex -and lots of it- then go and watch it now!
My roommate, Miekal, is obsessed with Game Of Thrones. She'd been planning a premiere party for weeks and even prepared themed foods and drinks! Her friends all came and we all hung and out together until the time was upon us. I had prepared myself by completing the entire Season 6, literally, day-of the premiere! I know. I cut it real close..! But I'm glad I did! Having just watched the entire previous season, I knew everything that was going on in the series and was well prepared for whatever they did to us this year!
And as for the premiere ITSELF!? (>_<) Just what a fanTASTIC way to bring in the season!!!! I'm so glad I didn't have to wait a whole year for this! Can't wait to see what the Winter will bring!
SO! Here's your Half Stark-Half Targaryen Girl
~ and total Jon Snow Lover ~ signing off for the night!
All Hail the North! All Hail the Mother of Dragons!
Let the Games Begin!!!

Blue Apron Hack...

I've always said that I wouldn't be that person that has groceries delivered to my home.... but look at me now...!

I had heard of Blue Apron off of a Podcast and became intrigued. Spend a set amount of money and get all the ingredients I need to make a delicious meal- no questions about it. And not only are the meals delicious and extremely easy to make (good for a novice like myself), but all of the ingredients are clean and healthy options. I love it.
As for my special hack: it only works for someone like me. I'm single- live alone- and eat small proportioned meals throughout the day. Each meal that Blue Apron sends you is meant for 2, but even then, I eat half of the normal person's proportion for a single meal. SO. For every meal you get with Blue Apron (3 meals per delivery) I can split into 4 meals for myself and equaling out to a total of 12 small meals for myself. And that's it! The best part of my Subscription is definitely being able to "Skip" a meal. So I'm actually spending a total of $60 for 12 meals every 2 & a half weeks. Talk about a deal! And since I'm actually eating proper food, I'm not craving my usual junk like Wendy's or Burger King. Sure, every now-and-then I'll want to binge on a couple dollars worth of crap food, or pizza, but for the most part I'm really good! Not only that- I've actually lost 2lbs!
I plan to keep my subscription for the time being and see how it turns out, but for now, I'm lovin' it!

The Social Media Hole...

Everyone has at least one Social Media Platform now-a-days.

I remember the time of MySpace and the early years of FaceBook, but now there are so many! I never fall into the hole without a little help from others, and I always have a good reason for keeping up with them. But rather than tell myself it's ok to have all this Social Media, I figured if I put it all out there, it would make a little more sense.

Facebook- Lisette Monique Diaz
How & Why?
My grandma asked my whole family to create FaceBook accounts so she could help her fish tank...... True Story.... (-u-;) For about a year, I didn't actually use my account. I was connected to the few friends I knew that had FaceBook, but like the rest of my family, I made my account to feed into my grandma's game addiction. Lol She had access to all our accounts to take care of her fish, keep her farm grounds, and whatever else she was growing online... Eventually I found those games myself, and that's all I would do on FaceBook. Then it got to the point where so many of my friends were online, posting random life updates. I was even able to find friends from when I was in elementary school! FaceBook became a place to connect with people, although I was always busy and traveling, I was still able to know what was happening in my friend's lives. That's the most important aspect of FaceBook. Oh, and photos, of course! I'm constantly taking pictures, so the fact that I could share that with family and friends (mainly my grandma who lived so far away), made it all worth it.
I know there are some people that are extremely strict with releasing their full name online, but now-a-days, everyone has such easy access to information. There's really no point in keeping secrets. Besides, seeing as how I plan on making my way to the "Hollywood Scene" in the next chapter of my life, might as well get my name out now!

YouTube- TsuChibi's Castle
How & Why?
Like everyone today, I have a youtube account, mainly for entertainment purposes. I was there during the beginning of viral videos: Evolution of Dance, Cows, Cows, Cows, Charlie Bit My Finger, Shoes- you name it. (I'm old). Before being a youtube star was a thing, it was just a place to put up videos for people to watch and be entertained: the new version of America's Funniest Home Videos!
I made a couple of baby videos in my day. Online auditions for VO Roles, a couple of little covers of Anime Songs, I've even done a couple of little vlogs. And although I (like so many others) would love to make more youtube videos of... whatever the hell I can think of, I just don't have the time..! Hopefully in the months/years to come, but for now, it's just a main source for all things Jenna Marbles and other entertainment.

Twitter- TsuChibi_Castle
How & Why?
I remember quite clearly how my friend continued to bug me about making a Twitter account. It was so fun to talk to people. (Basically like texting except with Followers instead..?) I didn't see the point. But by that point I actually had an account already. But for completely unrelated reasons: an Anime Convention. That's right. Twitter was one of the first Social Media Platforms companies and major events chose to use for up-to-date information. Who knew?? The 1st year Anime Expo took to Twitter, I had no choice but to make an account. I needed to know everything that was happening, as it was happening! But as soon as the con was over, I didn't even touch the account. At least, for a year. But once my friends convinced me to jump back on the bandwagon, it was all downhill from there. I was addicted to Tweeting. I Tweeted every chance I had. This was a platform that was meant for sharing your internal thoughts and opinions on, well, everything..! Whether I was "BORED. Sitting in Math Class!" or "Dying of hungerrrr! Can't wait for 4th Period Lunch!" or even talking about the latest episode of an Anime I was watching. Twitter was so easy. And it was a fun place to talk with people who shared your opinions. Twitter is also currently my only Social Media that I feel free to speak my thoughts (including any and all cursing). With no family members following me, I feel no need to keep myself restrained. And that's the fun part about it. (^-^)

Instagram- TsuChibi_Castle
How & Why?
As with most Social Media Platforms, I hear on and on about how fantastic they are and people keep insisting on me making an account. But I usually ignore them. Instagram was the latest craze, and I had gone a year without ever feeling the desire to use it. Until I was at Disney World on vacation. One of the girls with us who had an Instagram explained it to me. It's just as good as FaceBook and Twitter except with Photos. Now we were talking. Since I'm constantly taking pictures, Instagram seemed to be the Social Media Platform made just for me! And for a time, I was more obsessed with Insta than any of the others..! Instagram was also the first time I created "TsuChibi_Castle" as a Username! Afterwards, I spread the name to my other accounts and it stuck.
Now-a-days, half of my Insta posts are actual pictures of what I'm doing with my life while the other half is equally split into my most recent read or screenshots that I thought were funny... Lol I should fix that...

SnapChat- HerbaLee_24
(only because it's connected to my Herbalife Google Account. boooo)
How & Why?
This one is a bit of a two-parter. Before I left to work at Disney Kim forced me to make an account. It was the main Social Media Platform she used and wanted me to share it with her. I tried and tried and didn't really understand... I hardly used it. Come to find out while on my Program- everyone had a SnapChat! Man, I was missing out! So I finally buckled down and made my friends show me how to use it. How I described it- Pretty much like combing Instagram (by using photos and videos), with the Twitter concept of keeping things short and concise. 10second videos of life. Your or someone else's. Brilliant..! Then they added in the Filters and made SnapChat its very own entity. My main deal with SnapChat was that once all my friends left for home across the pond (Australia, the U.K., France, China, etc...) I would still be able to see what they were doing with their lives.

While other Social Media Platforms are trying to keep up with this new monster, SnapChat, other platforms are popping up. (These are my main). But honestly, they each have their own purpose. FaceBook- the true original after stealing the idea from MySpace, I'm sure Lol. But a place to share your lives and keep up with friends from all over the world. Insta is for the photos and videos- you can edit all you want and share them with the world- a true Kodak Moment. Twitter is for the nagging thoughts in your head (while most people use Facebook for that as well, I'll stick to my little blue birdie). Being forced to keep your posts short, sweet, and concise is the challenge, but is perfect for all the best freakout moments while watching the premiere of your favorite TV series. And finally SnapChat- the brilliant ghosty that catches the best and most bizarre snippets of everyday life.
While there are those people (and I know several) that are still quite wary of Social Media and how it's "ruined society," I'd disagree. While it's true that people are more obsessed with their phones than the people around you, they're also much more connected to the people and world. Thanks to Social Media (for all the bad that's brought), the world has never been so connected as before. It's the power of the internet- and with it, knowledge of the world is at our fingertips, so why not Share it with others??

Dear Diary...

Up until recently, I didn't really see the point of posting daily life happenings on my Social Media. I thought it was dumb- people posting about the food that they're eating, or work drama. I didn't really care for it much. All I ever posted on FaceBook was quotes. From movies I had watched, books I had read, or just inspirational quotes. But I've come to notice that for some reason, people actually want to hear the stories I have to say..??
I still don't understand why people would want to read about other people's lives. Then again, I love watching vlogs or other people's SnapChats. When it's a celebrity's, I wish I could have that kind of lifestyle; when it's a friend's, I would wish I could be there to enjoy with them. So if other people can do it and not care, why not me?
What used to be secret tales people would write in their diaries is now the best Facebook stories. Does anyone actually have any diaries now-a-days?? Lol I always tried to keep up with one, but like this blog, I never did. I guess that's the point of Social Media. Rather than a personal diary, we put our lives and thoughts on blast for the whole world to see. Don't know if that's better or not, but at least we're somehow staying connected, right?
I mean, that's the whole reason why I fell into the Social Media hole in the 1st place. Every time I got a new Social Media account, it was through the recommendation of another. Then I'd use it religiously for months and just drop off the planet. The hard part is that I'm always busy. I would love to stay more active... I've actually become really good at posting on Facebook these past few weeks, so hopefully I'll be able to keep up with it!
Maybe it's because we all hope our lives are just a little more interesting than they actually are, and the fact that people are paying attention to us feeds into our ego. I mean, we all know the satisfaction of seeing a large amount of Likes on a post. I hope I can keep up with not just my own postings, but my friend's lives. After all, that's what Social Media is all about. Connecting People.

Soon to Come...

There's been a lot going on since I last blogged that I'd really like to blog about.
Lots to do with Family and Work.
Looking forward to getting it all down here- as soon as I'm able to find the time..! Lol
I'm currently on my 17th Day Straight of Working! As well as prepping for Collective Con this upcoming weekend! Crossing my fingers for more free time! (-u-;)

Mickey's Cast Fitness Center...

Today I made a visit to the Cast Fitness Center!
You know, lots of people talk big about getting fit and going to the gym at the start of the New Year, but do you know how many of those same people fall back into old habits by the 2nd month?? In the past I've been pretty good at keeping up with excising, even if just a little bit. I'm also fortunate to work in an environment where I am constantly moving. These past few months; however, I've seemed to have hit a rut. Not only am I busy all the time, without having a friend or some sort of motivator to push me into working out, my times at the gym have become less and less. I just get bored...
As apart of our Cast Member Holiday Coupons, we received a 50% Off for the Mickey's Cast Fitness Center enrollment. And since the extra fees are just taken out of my payroll, making it so that I won't forget to pay anything, I figured why not?? At Mickey's Cast Fitness Center they not only have group classes (sometimes I just need to feed off of people's energy), you get to pair up with a Wellness Coach to develop a personalized program to meet your goals. After a body assessment we went through a short physical assessment, my Trainer being sure to walk me through anything I had questions about. She was super sweet and I can't wait to go back on Friday! On Friday we'll be going through my 1st Day of Training and from then on it'll be up to me to keep it going. It'll be a bit of a challenge having to work around my work schedules, but I'm certain the fact that I'm paying for this membership weekly will force me to go in. lol

February-March Fitness Goals:

Get Fit/ Tone-Up
Drop 10-20lbs
Exercise on a Regular Basis AND Keep it Up!

Along with the working out, I'll have to keep myself tamed when it comes to my food habits as well. For example, actually eating breakfast. I know I've gotten back into my shakes, which have been fantastic. And, Lisette, just ignore the Wendy's! I know it's just across the street, but you can do it!! By combining the two, Eating Better and Working Out Regularly, it shouldn't be hard to fulfill my goals!!

61 Books of 2016...

As I mentioned previously, I am very proud of the number of books I managed to read last year. 61 Books! I love to read all sorts of genres, although I have my favorites and certainly a preferred type, I've learned. Of course, I love my series like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, and I'm very happy that I was finally able to start re-reading the Magic Tree House Series, even if it is for children. I was able to get my hands on several Sherlock Holmes stories, picked up new series and authors I hadn't heard of before, and I started reading new and old Manga series, as well as picking up a few lesser known plays in order to feed my Theatre brain. I've learned that I'm not a fan of Romance novels, I got bored every time I walked through the section, and (surprise, surprise) I love Murder Mystery Thrillers..!
Although I can just post a list of all the books I read last year, as I started at the beginning of last year, I'd really like to post about each of them separately (the series, at least), and if they have a movie counterpart, how do they compare?? It may take awhile, especially with all of my current reading list, but I'd love to get it done!

#ThrowbackThursday

I've made a few posts in the past with the #TBT tag, and I'm really wanting to bring that initiative back. I'm hoping that by posting at least every Thursday, perhaps I'll actually keep up with my blogging. There's also, obviously, a lot that has happened in the past year that I would love to talk about, so #tbt is quite appropriate. Just as I try to post every Wednesday for #WaltWednesday on my other Social Media, I really hope this time it sticks!

16 Going On 17...

It's another year & here I go making empty promises to myself...
The first promise?? That I'll blog more... lol We'll see..!
I was looking back on last year's New Year's post and I do have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself! A lot of people are saying that 2016 was a terrible year all-around, but I don't know. A lot happened. From Elections to Tragedies to deaths, but personally, I had a pretty fantastic year!
My List for 2016, and I have to say, I did a pretty good job...
**

Watch More Movies!
Catch up on Shows!!

&&&& Spanish...!
Work on Poke'mon: Princess Debut!

**
At the beginning of 2016, I wasn't sure how I would be taking care of myself in the months to come. I was having to ask my family for money because I didn't have a job. Come mid-February, however, and had 2 jobs! Soon I was back working with Disney and starting a new job at Universal Orlando! I've made so many fantastic friends and have somehow been able to keep up with those across the big pond. I started attending auditions! Sure, I'm a long way from being an actual entertainer, but at least I'm working on it! I've been pretty good at taking care of myself- for the most part... I've even gotten out of the house and have hung out with my friends! Yay for fighting my inner introvert! One of my dearest friends asked me to be a Bridesmaid in her wedding &&& my mother got engaged! But oddly enough what I'm most proud of: I read 61 books!! I don't think I've read that many books in a good while..! I made sure to work on my shows (I doubt I'll ever actually be caught up on ALL of them), and I made sure to watch more movies as well. With so much good happening in my life, I can't help but have hope for the New Year!

One thing I did have to sacrifice in order to accomplish a lot of what I did last year was any time for myself. Instead of resting or taking care of myself, I was forcing myself to work everyday and save money for future expenses. It upsets me that although I'm constantly working, I'm always broke and never have money, or simply TIME, for myself. At the start of this New Year, that's going to be my main focus.

For 2017 I want to pamper myself- take care of myself- enjoy my time.
I've made list of random purchases I plan to "splurge" on, since I never do that. My "Gift to Self" List.
And by taking care of myself, that also means getting my hair & nails & body taken care of regularly! (I even have a small collection of bath bombs that I am stoked to finally try out! *w*)
I may be starting this year out broke (what's new?), but at least I'm not in "Family Debt" anymore! I want to work a lot so I can have some actual spending money, but find that perfect balance between Work & Rest. From 2016 I plan to continue leaning towards Clean Eating Habits & Working Out.
Spend time out and about, hang out with my friends.
Explore Orlando/ Florida! Who knows how long I'll be here??
Continue to attend Auditions. Be confidant. Never Give Up!
Continue my Reading List that is ever-growing!!
Work on my Shows and watch more Movies.
Visit the parks and events, obviously!
And definitely work on my Languages! That is one thing I failed on this past year and would like to focus on this time around.
And, of course, continue to slowly work my Poke'mon: Princess Debut! I've let it go these past few months, but I thoroughly enjoy my time writing, so hopefully I'll be able to stick to it.

There's certainly a lot happening in these next few months for me: moving to a new apartment, family visits, birthday... I have to be careful not to fall into what I know best: working all the time and never taking care of myself. I want this year to be different. I don't want to have to worry about how I'm going to pay for rent, worrying about hanging with my friends because I don't have the time or money. My absolute main focus this year will be to find that Happy Medium between Work and Rest. Last year I made a lot of progress in my "New Year's Resolutions," and I know this year I will as well.

REVIEW: The Lightning Thief

As a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series, it's only natural that I'd feel the desire to re-read the books every now-and-then. Plus, I have to keep myself fresh since Riordan is still releasing books! I finally just finished The Blood of Olympus and am SO pumped for Trials of Apollo to come out this summer!!
This time, after reading the books, I decided to re-watch the movie. I remember seeing The Lightning Thief in theaters when it came out back in 2010. I didn't like it. After re-watching it, the book fresh in my mind... I still didn't like it. Yes, I'm biased having read the whole series, but even if I hadn't read it, I don't think I would have cared much for it... Simply put, The Lightning Thief movie just doesn't have any real depth..!
Let's start at the beginning: you see Zeus and Poseidon arguing over this missing bolt, and that was the first wrong thing! The whole point of a book or film is to learn along with the characters! If you just hand everything to your audience, there's nothing left for us to figure out. There was no mystery! From the very beginning you already know that Percy is Poseidon's son... The WHOLE POINT of the first, like, 5 chapters is the mystery about WHO Percy's godly parent is! Also, the audience is supposed to follow alongside Percy as he grows and learns about his special powers, in the movie he pretty much has got everything figured out already. How boring.
And speaking of characters... Am I the only one that is still annoyed that everyone is high school age when they're supposed to be 12??? The whole point of them being in middle school is because that's the world renowned age group of awkwardness! You're no longer a kid, your suddenly starting to notice the opposite sex, you feel like you don't fit in anywhere- which is pretty much the whole story of Percy Jackson, just with all the Greek Mythology mixed in...
On top of that, we have the lack of character development. Percy never had to wonder and worry about being claimed (not that "being claimed" was ever mentioned in the movie anyways), Chiron sent him directly to the Poseidon cabin. Whatever happened to him being the new kid?? ((And about the cabins- why did we never see any of the others?? Luke has a random tent to himself- where's the rest of Hermes Cabin???)) Grover, in the movie, starts out as this overly confident, mature, cool-kid satyr who's the center of the party; however, the real Grover is nothing like that. Grover is supposed to start out as a pitiful, crybaby, kid who's unsure of himself and eventually grows into a self-assured grown satyr with a searcher's license and an adorable romance. Annabeth, on the other hand, is pretty much herself except with a lot more of the bitchy attitude from the get-go. In the book, Annabeth is a love-sick girl who acts confident but is really trying to find her way in the real world. She's high-strung, adorable, highly intelligent, and not very much like her film counterpart. And, of course, I have to say it: WHY WASN'T SHE BLONDE??? And the worse part? If you decide to make Annabeth brunette in the first film, don't change it for the second one! You've already made the mistake, now you're just making it worse...!
I also didn't like how different they made the world, either. Don't get me wrong, the art and graphics were amazing, especially Olympus and The Underworld, but what about the spectacular world of the Greek gods in Western civilization? In Rick Riordan's world, what makes this story so appealing is the idea that the Greek gods and monsters and myths could be lurking right around the corner. How the simplest things like a fast food chain, a mattress store, or the Empire State Building could be connected to a whole other world. But in the movie, everything relatively "normal" was just glossed over. Finding their way into Hades had to be complicated and secretive- why couldn't they just find themselves to the rundown LA music studio??
And let's not forget the whole plot change..! Ares had no part in the movie, and I actually loved the badass Ares we meet in the book! Especially how Percy wins their little scuffle at the end- how do you think he becomes famous in the camp?? Well, besides the whole returning the lightning bolt, thing... Hermes is also missing. The kindly cousin who gives Percy a push every now-and-then, and truly feels for his lost son, Luke. And Luke... He genuinely has a strong dark purpose for wanting to overthrow Olympus, but in the film he sounds just like any run-of-the-mill bad guy. So you have to ask, where is Kronos??? The main baddee calling the shots from Tartarus, the one pulling the strings through everyone's nightmares?? Way to kill the story...
And the last thing I have to mention: the learning aspect of it all. One of the major pulls of every Riordan series is getting to learn. Throughout the book Percy meets various monsters and gods, he ventures to all sorts of places throughout the world, meeting heroes and villains of myth. But that's not the case in the film. We don't have Annabeth giving us a history lesson every time we meet a new monster, or Grover and Chiron teaching us about the gods and their part in the world we live in today.
I don't want to say that the movie was bad, but it definitely wasn't good. And it certainly didn't live up to the book. All they did was make an action movie, geared towards teens and young-adults, with the cool addition of Greek Mythology... And Riodan's books are so much more than that. You can't have a decent film without heart, and honestly, that's exactly what it was lacking.

REVIEW: Coraline

Many years ago I watched for the very first time a dark and spooky film, advertised for children. Ever from that first moment until now, I still think calling this movie a "Children's Movie" is quite a stretch. Coraline is a fantastically creepy movie with humor, adventures, beautiful art, and a totally spooktacular soundtrack.
Suzette loved the movie so much my niece was even named Coraline. Of course, she's a positively bright princess, so I guess she's not doing too well living up to the name; however, our very own little Coraline loves the movie she was named after just as much as we do.
Many years after first discovering the movie, Coraline, I finally got my hands on the book! To anyone who hasn't read the book, be warned, it's just as dark and demented as the film..! Personally, I think the book was even more creepy. With the book you get more details on Coraline's creepy adventure. There's also not as much comedy relief. I didn't know before diving into the book, but the character Wybie from the movie, doesn't even exist. I also would have to say that the movie has a lot more colors and happier scenes compared to the dark and danky book format. There's just a lot more creepiness as a whole in the original...
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved the book! It was definitely thrilling, and the art fantastically gruesome; however, the movie was still equally as fun. I finished the book in one day, that's how easy of a read it was, and I would totally purchase it for my collection someday.
I also have to give a hand out to the director, Henry Selick, and writers of the Coraline film, though. With the little that the original book gave, they were able to create a whole new world of magic and wonder, surprisingly bigger than Neil Gaiman could have imagined.

2016 New Year's Resolutions... Except, not..?

And here we are again- a new year! Ok, it's actually the middle of February, but it still feels like 2015 was only yesterday..! Does that mean that I have to make a million promises to myself that a may, or may not stick to??? No... I haven't really made a "New Year's Resolution" thing in a long while... I have set goals for myself, goals that I make sure are very general and are normal everyday things that I either already do, or want to do more of...? With setting general goals like these, it never feels like do-or-die whether they become fulfilled, which makes it much more likely to accomplish since I won't feel stressed about it. These are all goals that I want to work on in order to improve myself, just for me, and no one else...

And so, here is my 2016 Goals:

Another Kind of Magic...

Today I had my first day of Orientation for Universal Orlando!

It’s definitely strange having to wake up early and actually being around people for 8+ hours out of my day, haha, but I guess I’ll just have to readjust to it…! #IntrovertProblems (-u-)
Of course, since it was only the first day, we had to cover all of the basics. We did the usual new hire paperwork, payroll, benefits, taxes & all that good stuff. And don’t forget about learning about Safety! Surprisingly, this whole section, though, was a lot of fun! Rather than sitting in front of a computer reading about hazardous chemicals, or playing games about safety awareness, Universal took it to a whole new level. They mashed up a bunch of clips from their movies like The Mummy or The Nutty Professor, and re-dubbed the characters to say all this random safety information. What made it great, though, was the fact that Universal was able to make fun of themselves. They know that learning Safety Critical information is boring, so why not make it fun and entertaining?? And so, with the help of the Mighty Safety Man! we covered a whole 45minutes “Safety Begins With You” lecture without ever being bored.
The best part of today was definitely getting to walk back-stage. We only took a trip to the Backlot Bistro for lunch, but I couldn’t help but stare with amazement at all the witches and wizards passing me by! And did I mention we got to walk under the Hogwarts Express??? I was having so many Fangirl Moments- it was great! It’s too bad we’re not allowed any photos, I wish people could see all of the amazing things I get to witness on a daily basis..!
Another big part of today, I thought, was differentiating between the cultures of being a Disney Cast Member and a Universal Studios Team Member. Now, if I didn’t love both companies and theme parks EQUALLY I wouldn’t be working there. I even said it during my interview- I have to be in a work environment that I enjoy..! And I really do! Yes, you’re working for the busiest theme parks in the world & you have to deal with crazy/ incompetent/ rude guests quite often &&& the weather can be grueling in Florida &&&&&& sometimes the pay and/ or hours just plain suck- but so what??? Personally, the Magical Moments are what make it all worth it. Whether it’s having a wonderful experience with a guest or getting to learn about the wonderful things happening back-stage and within the company before anyone else- I absolutely have loved “working for the mouse,” and I’m certain I’m going to love working for Universal as well..!
As for learning to differentiate between the two- I’m sure more will come to light once I actually start working for Universal, but here’s some of what I’ve noticed.

Favorite Things About Working for Disney:
Free entry into all 4Major Theme Parks plus 3Water Parks as well as Guest Resorts.
FREE PARKING
Great Cast Member Discounts on Merch as well as Full Service Restaurants.
9/10 You get to interact with some of the coolest/ nicest Cast Members in the World.
Most of the Managers I know are very helpful and great to their Cast Members.
Parties in the Tunnel!
And Disney gives us Free Food a lot, haha! At least for Fantasyland Attractions!
Peer Recognition! (It’s great when you get it, but really sad when you KNOW you’re a fanfuckingtastic worker, but no one actually recognizes you…!)
That warm fuzzy feeling when you get to make a family vacation even more magical
Being with my people!! WE ALL LOVE DISNEY & RANDOMLY BREAK OUT INTO SONG & DANCE!
It’s Disney!! ‘Nuf Said!!!
What I Greatly Dislike About Working for Disney:
Block-Out Dates for Cast Members!! (>_<)
Having to pay extra for the Hard Ticketed Events..!
The company is so large there’s often miscommunication between departments.
Sometimes I feel that Disney can be a bit too-faced (sorry! I still love you!)
Favorite Things About Working for Universal (so far):
Free Entry into both Universal Orlando and Island of Adventures as well as Sea World Orlando and Busch Gardens pluuuus discounted tickets at Wet ’n Wild.
NO BLOCK OUT DATES FOR UNIVERSAL!!
FREE ENTRY FOR HARD TICKETED EVENTS!
FREE PARKING @ Universal
Greeeeaaat Team Member Discounts on Merch as well as Full Service Restaurants &&& QUICK SERVICE! (FUCK YA!)
9/10 You get to interact with some of the coolest/ nicest Team Members in the World.
So far the Management Team seem great and very helpful/ reliable to their new members!
They hold an Annual Team Member Survey just to hear what we have to say
There’s a Party Trolley?? That’s cool!
They even celebrate Mardi Gras! Awesome!
They gave me a free lunch today, so that counts! Haha..!
On top of getting recognized by your fellow Team Members at your specific location, you get to gloat about your success with a photo in the UO Newsletter &&& a personalized parking spot (if you get recognized for the month)!
PLUS, all of your recognition can actually be redeemed for real money! Now that’s what I’m talking about!
We’re all Nerds Here! While Disney has it’s fair share of Magic, I love to let my inner nerd out! Bring on the MARVEL Universe & the Harry Potter Wonderment!!!
Dislikes of Working for Universal:
Weeeell, I can’t exactly put anything here yet since I’ve only been to 1day of orientation, but I’m sure it’s going to be similar… Dumb Guest Interactions, dealing with Florida weather… Who knows..??

It may actually be because I actually worked at Disney for 6months and I am so ready to take on a new challenge, but I still love it! I wouldn’t be going back if I didn’t! That’s another thing! I hate that people complain about Disney so much! If you hate it so much, then fucking leave! I don’t wanna hear your nonsense! When you work for a theme park, especially for a place like Universal or Disney, you HAVE to be happy! Be grateful that you fucking have a job & more importantly, show that you LOVE your job! You may be having a crappy day, whether because of something personal or something work related, but that has nothing to do with the Guests. I hate when I’m working with someone who has nothing good to say about their job. Do you not realize how many thousands of people would kill for an opportunity like this??? I know I greatly appreciate my job- both of them! And I’m so glad that I’m getting to live out my dreams.
Mom keeps telling me how proud she is of me, which is the mom thing to do, of course. But what she added to that really warmed my heart. “Most people work all their lives wishing to find their dream job. And you did it right out of college.” I never thought about it until she told me, but it’s so true. I know so many people, my mother included, who are only finding their dream job in the later years of their life. So many people who say they have regrets for not pursuing their dreams… And maybe that’s why I’m so adamant about chasing my own. I know I must sound like a silly little girl, but I truly believe in chasing your dreams and following your heart. (Obviously, that’s the Disney Kid in me!) But then again, if I didn’t think like that not only would I not be a Theatre Major, or an Actress pursuing an almost impossible dream, but I wouldn’t be where I am right now.
I had dreamed of someday visiting Japan ever since I was in the 5th grade- summer 2012, I made that dream come true. The Disney College Program became a dream of mine way back during my Junior Year of High School- 5years later, I made it happen. Auditioning for FUNimation, working with renowned Anime Voice Actors- all dreams and goals I made for myself years and years ago and somehow, it all came true. Even getting to work for Universal! Although I never actually said I wanted to, I’ve wished to be a wizard since forever, and now I’ll be helping make the Wizarding World of Harry Potter come to life! There’s just so much I want to do with my life, so many goals and so many dreams… I am so grateful that at such a young age I’m already getting to see the fruit of my labors and I am more than happy to be, as my family has often told me, a “role model” for my younger brothers and cousins. 2015 was such a Magical Year and 2016 looks like it’s going to be quite an Adventure..!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Here’s to my year- The Year of the Fire Monkey!
And although I know most people don’t believe in the pseudoscience of Astrology or the sacred power of the Chinese New Year, but when it’s so accurate to my current life situation so much of the time, how can I not believe?? And so, I leave you with a little Monkey Wisdom:
“With the right blend of optimism, playfulness, dedication, and passion, you can experience amazing achievements in every area of life.”

It All Started With A Mouse...

We've all heard this saying and it's something that definitely has inspired me in my everyday life. When I look at the empire that Disney has become since Walt's humble beginnings, it not only makes me appreciate what I have in life, but it gives me hope to pursue my own impossible dreams.
I grew up watching Disney movies and I watched all of the television shows. Even today, I make sure to keep an eye out for the latest Pixar Release, and I'm always up-to-date on the newest Disney Princesses coming to join the family. The wonderful world of Disney has always been near and dear to my heart, and now that I work for the company, it's even more-so. I am honored to call the Magic Kingdom my Home.
I'd like to admit that I've fallen head-over-heels for the Disney Company and as such, I've decided to take it upon myself and learn all there is to know about it. After reading my Disney Biography last year, I wanted to watch all of the original Disney Creations and really get a sense of the Disney History. And so, I began a list... And somehow, someway, I will watch every single one of Disney's works- even those Silly Symphonies that came before Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! And the television shows that no one even knows about?? Yup, I'm gonna watch those too! Who knows how long it'll take, haha, but I'll get it done! After all, when I set my mind on something, I make it happen, no matter what. Walt was the one that taught me that...!
