Happy 19th Birthday!!

TODAY'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!
I got to drive Mom's car everywhere and we even found this really cute Italian restaurant for lunch!
Found the MonsterHigh birthday decorations for the party, and Suzette even got me a MonsterHigh calendar! It's so cool, I can't wait for the new year to be able to use it!
It was a very nice and relaxing day just driving around and hanging out with the family.
How strange to think that I have only 365days till I'm done with my teenage years!
I'm going to have to make the best out of this last year and be all that I can be!

To Grandma's House... We Go??

Every New Years my family packs up and we drive to El Paso to visit my grandparents. It's an annual trip that we've done for the past 10years since we've moved to SanAntonio. We hang out with our friends and family from El Paso and we party to celebrate my birthday and for the New Year! But this year, for the first time, we didn't! We were able to convince them to fly up and stay at our house and we're going to celebrate my birthday at home! I'll actually be able to see my friends on my birthday! I can't wait! ^-^

Bexar County

Some of my best best friends are the Harkiewicz sisters, Samantha, Sarah, and Stephanie. Before I entered high school, Suzette and Rochelle were friends with the older sisters, and when I met them, it was a mutual relationship. Then Sarah graduated and Sam entered the school right after her. Even after my graduation, we've all remained friends and I love them all so much! So, when I figured out that the only time I'd be able to hang out with them was to go with them to Bexar County, I couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Although I lost a lot of sleep during those two days, it was a lot of fun being at Bexar County with my friends! We played video games, card games, ate junk food, and just hung out! I love my friends, and it's strange to think that this will be the last year that I'll be around this goats since Sammy's won't be in AG anymore, but it was a fun time full of long lasting memories! ^-^

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas was so much fun, even though I was so very tired from wrapping presents... I loved seeing Coraline play with her toys, and Nicky's reaction to opening his Wii & DSi!

Here's everything I got for Christmas: (From left to right) The Winnie the Pooh Movie, a SnowWhite collectors doll & a photo album from Jennifer and Dad, Sushi erasers from Nicky, an owl coin purse, an Ariel crystal from Katie, the HufflePuff scarf, gloves, & hairpiece, a HelloKitty MacBook sleeve, Harry Potter: Page to Screen, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, a Harry Potter musical score from Richard, the owl scent plug & silver earrings & StarBucks cup from Suzette & Billy, Strawberry lotion, an Ariel doll from Carolyn, CaptainAmerica, a fox wallet, a tea set from Rochelle & D.J., a whole bunch of jewelry, && TweetyBird pajama pants, frog slippers, & a PoohBear PillowPet that are not pictured!!!!!!
My favorite part about Christmas is the family dinner: Mom always cooks an amazing meal for the whole family & I love listening to stories told from my Aunt & Uncle & Mom. Christmas has always been my absolute favorite holiday because it brings the family together!

Christmas Eve!!

We all had to wake up early to take pictures with Santa! Mom would take Nicky shopping early in the morning while Rochelle & DJ were driving in from Victoria, and we were all going to meet up at Santa's workshop. But, seeing as this is MY family... That didn't happen...
Firstly, we all woke up an hour late, so Nicky couldn't go shopping. We were SUPPOSED to be at the mall by 11AM, and I happened to be the ONLY one dressed and ready by 10:30AM... So, like the good little girl I am, I clean.... I vacuumed, swept, and mopped the whole house annoyed and frustrated. Finally, at 11:30, we left the house. The line to see Santa wasn't bad, but everyone was a bit peeved. Suzette had to be at work by 1:30, Rochelle & DJ were tired, and Mom and Billy were a bit fussy... Things turned worse when we almost didn't make it before Santa's lunch break, THEN Billy had left to retrieve Suzette's work clothes JUST before we had to take the pictures!! Suzette was so upset... Luckily, I saved the day and found Billy just before we finished with the pictures. We were able to get a really good family portrait and Suzette and Billy and Coraline took their first Family Christmas Pictures!
After Suzette left for work, Mom had to do some last minute shopping, so naturally, I tagged along. But Mom kept switching from being in a GREAT mood to being moody and it kept frustrating me. Hours later, we returned home and gathered everyone to visit the lights. It's tradition for my family to buy BurgerKing and drive to see the lights at Windcrest. It was lots of fun, but the people didn't seem too amped up for this year's theme of "Military."
We made cookies after getting home, then the Midnight Exchange! I loved everyone's gifts: Mom got me TweetyBird pajama pants, Suzette&Billy got me a Starbucks cup and some Bath&Body Works scents, Nicky got me some cute Erasers, and Rochelle&DJ got me a really cute ChineseTeaSet! And everyone liked my gifts, so I was happy!
Following the gift exchange, we left out cookies and milk for Santa, and Nicky & I went to bed. 1hour later, Rochelle woke me up. It was my turn for Elf Duty again! One of my favorite parts of Christmas: staying up with Mom and wrapping everyone's gifts! I loved being able to help put smiles on everyone's faces! I love making people smile, even if I'm only helping in a supporting role! ^-^

DATP Christmas Party!

L-R/Back-Front: Richard, Carolyn, Allison, Zach, Celina, Katie, Me, Mary
I think anytime I hang out with this group of friends, I'm just going to refer to them as "DATP".... It just makes sense... "Dick And The Posse" you know! I really would love if we could actually do stuff for DATP Records! I think it'd be a really fun project for us all! >v<
Well, Katie had a Christmas party & I was really excited to see everyone! It had been so much fun! I live the farthest from home & everyone's seen each other at least once since we've left for school, EXCEPT FOR ME! So it was really great! Even though I felt so underdressed... -_-
There was so much food and so much laughing, I thought I was going to die! My friends are just so great, and I wish I had money to get them all Christmas gifts! But what they got me was amazing! As soon as I got home I had to show them all off!
I hope we can all hang out again before I leave! I had such a great time; it's so nice to hear their voices! Talking via Facebook is just not the same! >.<

Santa's Little Elf

I love shopping for everyone! I always volunteer my services to my mother to tag along for the Christmas Shopping! Everywhere is always very crazy and there's tons of traffic and bustling about, but I LOVE it! Everyday that I've been home, I've cleaned house and shopped with my mom & it's been so much fun! It's great to be the only one to know what everyone's gifts are. I can't wait to see everyone's faces come Christmas Morning!

Christmas List Hunt!

My mom always nags me to add more items to my list so she has more choices, so this year I definitely did! This year's list included the DeathlyHallows Part2 Double Disk Set, The Winnie the Pooh Movie, BECCA- I'm Alive album, HarryPotter LEGOS Years 5-7, a Draculaura Doll, & winter clothes, amongst a few other books and CDs...
I felt that I had created a decent list... Nothing was too too expensive, and there was variety! Until I found "Harry Potter: Page to Screen." A ginormous book full of all of the Behind-The-Scenes of every HarryPotter movie!! ....But it cost 75$... And I felt so bad asking Mom for it... But it was so cool...!
Throughout our Christmas Shopping, Mom kept returning to me saying things like, "Don't expect to see this on Christmas," "I looked ALL OVER SAN ANTONIO, but they said it was sold out!" "Sorry, Baby, just don't get your hopes up..." And that made me feel even more bad!! The things that I really wanted ended up being the hardest items to find! >.<
Then I got to thinking.... A lot of times Mom says things like that to throw us off her trial but she ends up getting it anyways! So, I didn't completely lose hope... But I didn't build up too much either! I guess I'll just have to wait and see! ^-^

Driver's License

So, here's the thing.... My dad told me that he won't get me a car until I had a license... Which is understandable, but if I don't have a car, how am I supposed to practice?? SO~ When I received my Driver'sPermit in the mail during ThanksGiving Break, I texted him & Jennifer a picture & lied... I said that I had my license, and since I did, they've actually started looking for cars! So, if I hadn't lied, things wouldn't have been moving forward!
But, when Dad comes to SanAntonio, I kind of HAVE to have my license! I've been parching driving in Suzette's car & I've actually been pretty good! With just a little more practice, I will be SO ready to take the test before my Birthday! I can't wait! ^-^

Oh, Christmas Tree

On my first day back I got to decorate our Christmas Tree! Every year, we go as a family to pick out a tree, but since I wasn't here, everyone just picked it & I got to decorate with everyone. And since it's Coraline's first Christmas, we were all real excited to put her ornaments up. I loved putting up all of the ornaments that we have. From my Baby's First Ornament to my handcrafted ones, and especially my yearly ornaments. Everyone always gets a new ornament that represents themselves as well as their year. Mine for this year is a pretty silver Swarorvski ornament with a little kid decorating a green tree with "Believe" written at the bottom. I chose it to represent the "Mean Green" and how I've had to learn to believe in my skills and my dreams these past few months. We each also picked an ornament to hang with Coraline! I love my little niece! She's so adorable!

Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year because everyone's always usually in a good mood! I love singing Christmas Carols & buying gifts for my family! And seeing the few gifts under the tree is getting me very excited! ^-^

Kaleido Star: My Inspiration

The reason why I've spent so much time talking about Kaleido Star is because it has become such an inspirations to me. Sora's determination to fulfill her dreams and the passion she puts into her work and her love for the stage makes me want to be more like her. I want to be able to fully believe in my dreams and to push forward towards that dream no matter what! I want to be like Sora Naegino, I want to be able to say, "I don't care if people say my dream is impossible, I will make my dreams come true!!" I really do!
At the end of each episode, Sora says,"My wings are my dream and on towards the sky!" This quote inspired me to not only rename my blog, but to create a tattoo in her honor. I've drawn it out and hope to get it done in the next year, or two. That way, I'll always be able to remember to work towards my dreams as hard as Sora does. I'm so happy I bought this Anime, because it has inspired me to push forward and to be more passionate at everything I do! I WILL make my dreams come true, no matter what! ^-^

Review:
Kaleido Star is one of the most inspirational Anime's I have seen. All of the characters are always entertaining and fun to watch. The Kaleido Stage is a place where dreams come true and where dreams are made. Every character, although they seem to be bad, always turn around and have an "Angel's Heart." And that's the whole point of the story. Sora realizes that everyone has an "Angel Heart" and is able to smile, if given the right motivation. Sora makes a great heroine because she never gives up. Sora is always striving for the stars and is so passionate towards her dreams. It seemed that Sora cried at least ONCE in EVERY episode, and that shows that it's ok to cry and to show your true feelings. The series could have done without the OVA "Kaleido Star: Special Stage." Although it makes a great story and we get to see the dream passed onto Rosetta, the story could have lived without it. Another part of the story that should have been expanded upon: Ken and Sora's relationship. I'm for both versions: I love the fact that Sora was always fighting for her dreams and was never distracted by love, and that makes for a great story. BUT~ I'm always a "hopeless romantic" and I would have loved to see them fall for each other! As of right now, I've seen this series 4times, 3of which were in this same year! And I am so ready to watch it again. The comedy never gets old, and the story still inspires me. It's definitely one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!!

Kaleido Star: Special Stage

The dream has passed onto Rosetta, the Diabolo world champion. When she first arrived at the Kaleido Stage, she didn't acknowledge Sora Naegino. But, after doing a performance together, Rosetta got her smile back, all thanks to Sora. And after seeing both "The Legendary Great Maneuver" and "The Angel's Maneuver," Rosetta decided to follow her own dreams of performing on the trapeze with Sora. After rigorous training and devotion to the stage, Rosetta was able to see The Fool.
In this OVA that takes place after many shows of Sora's "Swan Lake," Rosetta takes the lead. Yuri announces Rosetta's leading role in Kaleido Stage's new production! A picture accidentally delivered to Sarah, inspires Mia to write the new show. In this painting, there is a sad princess that resembles Rosetta, and hidden behind a curtain, a Court Jester that looks like The Fool. "The Amazing Princess Without A Smile" seems like the perfect role for Rosetta, but the pressure of playing the lead starts to build up. Rosetta loses her confidence in her abilities and her dreams and loses the capability of seeing The Fool. As she tries to run away, Rosetta discovers The Fool's mask that had been lost the night before. When she touches the mask, Rosetta is able to relive parts of The Fool's memories that he had locked away. Memories of his past love of the princess; memories of other performers who had dreams. The Fool's painful memories make Rosetta realize how much she loves the stage and how painful it would be for her to leave it. Sora finds Rosetta at the bus stop crying, and the two promise to never give up on their dreams again. The Fool appears to Rosetta again, and the show is back on. Opening night, Rosetta thanks Sora for helping her dreams come true, and as the lights come up Sora has a glimpse of the future: She sees Rosetta standing beside her, dressed and poised for performing "The Legendary Great Maneuver." Confused, Sora shakes it off, and Rosetta scolds her for being air headed on opening night. The two stars jump into action, each with different dreams, but both striving for the stars.

Kaleido Star: New Wings

The second season starts off with Sora trying to make the Kaleido Stage as great as it was before they went under. The new male lead, Leon Oswald, is a world renowned performer and disproves of Sora's presence on stage. Although he was hired to help the stage and to become Sora's partner, Leon's attitude and ignorance keep pushing her away. Another character that joins the story is May Wong, a new rival for Sora and the self-proclaimed "Next Layla Hamilton!" May, who believes that it's Sora's fault that Layla left the stage, refuses to allow Sora to become Leon's partner at all costs. But, when Leon injures May's shoulder during a performance, we see that the hyperactive girl is no more than a hopeful dreamer who wishes only to be her best. May becomes Leon's partner, and Sora is left in the shadows.
The main point of this season is Sora's wavering emotions. Sora wants to be Layla's dream and become a true Kaleido Star, but having to compete and shatter other people's dreams through the process is breaking her heart. Sora is confused on what dream she wants to accomplish and when she finally decides, she doesn't know how she can make it happen. As soon as she gets her fire back, Leon realizes that Sora is the only person that can possibly become his partner. Sora reminds Leon of his sister, Sophie, who died 3years previously. Sophie was the only person who Leon had approved as his partner, but now that Sora has decided to strive towards her dream of "A stage with no competition," a dream similar to Sophie's, Leon decides to give Sora a chance. Through intensive training, Sora and Leon work towards perfecting the "Angel's Maneuver." This move has never been perfected before and is rumored to be the only pathway for a true Kaleido Star. After finally perfecting the "Angel's Maneuver," Sora is surprised to be challenged for her role as Odette in Kaleido Stage's new production, "Swan Lake." Layla forces Yuri to train with her so that she could challenge Sora. Kalos, Yuri, and Leon all discussed the belief that "only a demon can raise an angel" and during their audition, it became clear that Layla Hamilton was Sora Naegino's demon all along. Although Layla wanted Sora to surpass her and become a star, Layla wanted nothing more than to defeat Sora, and that made her a demon. In the end, Sora became Odette, who's love for the stage surpassed her love for her own well-being while May became Odile, who would give anything to defeat Odette. Sora dreamed of creating a Kaleido Stage free of competition, to bring the audience and performers together, and to awaken everyone's "Angel Hearts." During the opening performance of "Swan Lake," Layla witnessed Sora's miracle as the audience joined Sora on stage and performed together while smiling and enjoying themselves. Everyone who witnessed Sora's Angel Maneuver, chose to fulfill their dreams afterward, and Sora, who wanted only to prove herself to Layla, found out that she could no longer be Layla Hamilton's dream. Layla told Sora that she needed to live her own dream, and that she had made her proud. So, the dream has passed on to the next Fool, and Kaleido Stage has been reborn!

New Choreographer's Concert (NCC)

I love that Dance & Theatre are all in one department! It means that I get to watch dance performances for free!! Every semester, the new seniors of the Dance department get to choreograph their own show, one for the Fall and one for the Spring. This December's New Choreographer's Concert was amazing! There seemed to be a theme between all of the performances. There was a lot of floor work and African style music and lots of dark colors. There were solos and groups and duos, but every one was as beautiful as the next. I ushered this show, so although I had duties to fulfill, I was able to enjoy every minute of the show!
I can't wait to start my dance classes next semester! Although I know I have a lot to learn, I'm willing to try anything and I promise to do my best and soon I will be an amazing dancer as well!! ^-^ ((optimism!!))

Kaleido Star

Kaleido Star is an Anime that ran in 2003 in America & Japan. The story follows a 16year old girl named Sora Naegino who travels from Japan to Cape Mary, California to audition for the world renowned, Kaleido Stage. This circus is home to the great Layla Hamilton who has won trophies and recognition for her beauty and talent on the stage. In the first episode, Sora is late to the audition forcing Ken to not allow her to audition. But, her dream isn't over yet! Kalos, simply known as "The Boss" tells Sora to perform in the place of an injured trampoline performer, and after a bit of encouragement from the audience, Sora is able to put on a magical performance! After being told that she's passed her audition, Sora is visited by the Spirit of The Stage and he informs her that if she can see him, then she is meant for the stage. So, with the help of The Fool & her friends, Sora Naegino begins her journey towards true Kaleido Stardom!
Throughout the first season of Kaleido Star, Sora deals with the pressures of being an outcast and tries her best to have her skills recognized by her idol and star, Layla. Sora becomes known for having the power of connecting with her audience and Layla feels threatened. Although Layla acts like a diva, we learn that she is only concerned with the stage's well-being and has her own dreams to fulfill: having her father accept her dreams and skills. After Layla and Sora become friends and partners, the stage goes under. Kaleido Stage is taken over by Yuri Killian, the stage's leading man. After a lot of hardships, and Layla's acceptance of her father's ignorance, The Fool tells the pair that they are ready to start training for "The Legendary Great Maneuver." Every team to attempt this maneuver has died, and the last group to try it included Yuri's father. Yuri considered Kalos to be at fault for his father's death, so he bargains with them. If Sora and Layla can master "The Legendary Great Maneuver" in one month, they can get the Kaleido Stage back. So, the special training begins. For weeks, Kalos trains Sora and Layla in the Grand Canyon and they fight rigorously  to remain unbroken. Towards the end of their training, Layla damages her shoulder. After returning for final rehearsals, Layla is sent to the hospital and told that she couldn't perform, but Layla refuses to listen. Sora, though worried, believes in Layla, and their full commitment to each other and refusing to be afraid of death, prompts The Fool to telling them what "The Legendary Great Maneuver" consists of. The day of the performance, friends found throughout the series flood the audience, and the performance begins. At its climax, the ceiling opens into the night sky and Sora and Layla take the trapeze. There are no lifelines, and there is no net. They swing together, with no fear, and jump. Their right arms meet in the middle and they begin to fly. "The Legendary Great Maneuver" is completed for the first time and the girls have made history. The audience is empowered with faith. The Fool and Kalos explain that "The Legendary Great Maneuver" is a maneuver that shows a complete faith in life that it keeps fear and death at bay. At the end, Sora and Layla push off back towards the swings and Layla's shoulder is damaged even more. Her father, who was finally able to see her performance, sees that Layla's shoulder is so damaged that she will be unable to perform at Kaleido Stage ever again. Sora is heartbroken at the news. Layla tells Sora to be strong and asks if she can be her dream. Amazed at the request, Sora accepts and is now determined to bring back Kaleido Stage and to live as Layla's dream to become a true Kaleido Star!

Catch Up Time! ^-^

Although the break was tons of fun spending time with my friends & family, as I mentioned before, I've been really busy ever since I've gotten back from Thanksgiving Break! Just after getting break I realized that I accidentally forgot my camera's computer cord, so I haven't been able to upload any pictures or videos, which is kind of depressing... But Suzette found it, so when I get back home, I'll upload them all straight away! I'm so excited!!
As soon as I got back I had to go into overdrive on everything! I did my Make-Up hours, got my rough draft for English taken care of & was pulling full speed ahead!! But... After band practice, I got really sick... I was fine up until it was over. It was the coldest night up here in Denton, and I thought it was just the weather that was bothering. But after laying in bed for over an hour huddled in my blanket, I realized that my body was immensely warm and I was STILL freezing. Even though I knew I was just getting sick, I threw on an extra jacket, socks, hat, and gloves just to stay warm. My body was all achey too, it was such a horrible night, going from being freezing to boiling hot!! For the next two days I slept in and missed Japanese and English. I felt so horrible.... I just hate getting sick...
After that night, I fell behind on my school work so badly! I had to build my invention & report it to her late, I wasn't able to get all of my Writing Lab visits, my presentation in COMMunications wasn't at its highest potential, & I just gave up on getting my Make-Up hours... That was the worst week I've ever had... But, in this final week, I kind of picked things up again! As Kim & I finished up Kaleido Star, I felt as determined as Sora to achieve my goals! SO, I decided not to worry about all the bad things that had happened. I couldn't just sit around moping about what may, or may not, happen! I have to get right back up and keep pushing forward! What's happened is already in the past, now I have to keep looking towards the future! Of course, I'll still be crossing my fingers hoping to get good grades!! >.<

Busy,Busy,Busy... -_-

Ya, that's about right... Just thought I'd come & say hi & let yew all know I'm not dead... I've just been SO BUSY!! With the end of the semester sneaking up, it's just been SO CRAZY! But, I'll be able to definitely catch up this weekend!...Or next week... There's a lot of Band going on this weekend too, hehehe... ((Exhausted))
