Packing My Life Away...

Kassie & I got a Storage Unit together
It is so sad how often I am having to pack my life away!!

1/3 of my Book Collection!
From moving home to college, dorm room to dorm room , then to my apartment, and now to Disney. Sure, it's always super exciting: moving into a new place and meeting new people, BUT, that also means I have to lose so much of my things along the way! While I've been at UNT, most of my things sat alone at my mom's place, but before I moved into my apartment, everything got packed up and moved with me to Denton. I was so excited, especially because I finally had my manga collection with me! But now that I'm moving to Florida, with small living spaces, I am having to pack my life away.. Again..!
...My 189 Manga off to Storage...
The only things that I plan to take with me to Florida, are the basics of clothing and shoes, my Poke'mon: Princess Debut Fanfiction, a small collection of movies and books, and that is basically IT. I even had to narrow-down my huge stuffed animal collection to only 16... 16!! It's gonna be so strange not having them with me! I had to pack away my Manga... again... &&&& my VHS collection, but even more important- my Harry Potter books!! ( ; __ ; )
My Giant Collection of Stuffed Animals!
It's so sad that I'm not going to have all of my things, and I am also so worried about leaving them behind... but, like I said, it's super exciting as well. Besides, it's always fun to reminisce about the past. Although I will be having to leave a bit of myself behind, I think I'm even more excited for what's coming... I'm moving to Florida and I'll be living and working at the most Magical Place on Earth! I'm sure I'll be too busy either working or having fun roaming throughout the parks and having adventures with my roomies to even worry about my things! So, here's to moving on towards a new and exciting future!!

So Long Subway...

~*April 26th*~

I remember posting 3 years ago when I got my first job at Subway. I was quite excited. Since I had never had a job before, I was looking forward to "joining the workforce." I can definitely say that I learned a lot, good and bad, and I am appreciative of my time there, but I also know for sure that I will never work there again...
I began my time at Subway under a wonderful manager named Kati. She ran the store properly and all of us employees worked well together. She was great with students and working around our class schedule, and was easy to give permission for holiday leave. I was always confident when I left for the summer or the winter holidays and I knew that I would have my job upon my return.
About 2years after joining her crew, Kati left and we got a new manager. Justin, who had worked alongside us for years, was absolutely not a good manager. He was hardly ever at work, the store turned into a mess, he never did inventory, and he just did not care about getting the employees to work together. The only good thing about having such an awful manager was the fact that he actually allowed us to take food... Oftentimes, the employees would come in randomly and make themselves a sandwich, grab some cookies, a drink, and whatever else. It was nice not having to pay for food... But at the same time, he kept us understaffed. All last Fall I was stuck closing alone, for hours, and was usually not out of the store until 2-3AM. We also looked into the computer and it seemed that he was changing our hours so that we were getting paid less- as soon as I found that I out, I was preparing myself to quit... for weeks and weeks I was wanting to put in my 2weeks, but I needed a job... I was definitely looking for another job, and was just waiting to hear back, but I never did...
Back in February, I believe, Justin got a new job (thank goodness). He was leaving and we were getting a new manager: Kati's younger sister, Heather. She seemed cool, and was ready to take charge and bring the store back to what it was. For the next few months, Heather was getting on us closers making sure that everything was done properly; however, she didn't seem to want to help us out either. We would tell her what we needed, a second closer, but she never obliged. I was forced to close alone for months, taking care of rush-hours by myself, being left hanging by co-workers, but she never seemed to care much. I don't know if it was because she was young and inexperienced (she's only 19), but after several closings that lasted till 4AM, I was on the hunt for a new job again. But Heather got there 1st..! Before I got the chance to put in my 2-weeks, I got a call from Heather (the day after another late close) with a message stating that "my services were no longer required." On one hand, I was ecstatic at the fact that I no longer worked for Subway, but on the other hand, I was worried about my finances. Subway was the only place I was receiving money.

Luckily, due to the fact that I was "fired" without notice, and without any means, I had never gotten a complaint or anything, I had all the legal rights of getting unemployment. My mom helped me figure things out, and it's only because of the money I'm receiving from them, that I have a place to stay. I'm still having to donate at BioLife twice a week, and am looking for a job for the rest of the summer, but it looks like I'll be alright. I have no worries. Thanks to my wonderful mother, and my philosophy to never worry about what I can't control, I know that everything will work out. I'll be at Disney in August, living my dream, I just have to pull through till then.
I enjoyed my job OVERALL, but that could also just stem from the fact that it was my FIRST job ever. It may have just been a dumb minimum wage job, but I actually learned a lot in these 3years and I made a ton of friends! Here's to never working there again and to moving onto the future!!
PS. Although I believe Subway is far too overpriced, I don't think I'll ever get sick of the food..!

Samurai 7 #tbt...

~* July 18th- 20th *~
I feel that this year was one of the most chill and relaxing cons I have ever attended. I was bouncing from panel to panel and was fortunate enough to meet so many fantastic people, but I never felt rushed or frazzled. And during any downtime, I would just slip off to the hotel room and watch tv or take a nap. It was so nice to just spend time with great friends and enjoy the event.
As always, my favorite panels were the VA panels- no matter what we talk about, I just love listening to their stories. It's always inspirational. It's these people that remind me every year how much I want to fight for my dreams of becoming an actress! (^-^)

As usual, I had by Alice costume as well as my Pooh Bear Kigurumi! It's my goal to have a real cosplay for next year!! I will! (*o*)

As a sort of, Veteran Con-Goer, I've stopped taking a million pictures of everything & everyone. However, when I see something amazing, like a beautiful Malon Cosplayer, I couldn't resist the urge to talk to her! I loved the detail that went into her cosplay- she even had real milk!

And then I met an awesome Sandy Claws who even went out of their way to wear stilts for their cosplay!

And lastly, this gem of a cosplay! The detail that goes into cosplay is fantastic!! This person's Majora's Mask was absolutely beautiful!

But the best part about attending conventions, especially for a collector like myself, is being able to find things like this!! X/1999 (also known as X) is a 90s series by my favorite Mangakas, CLAMP. Although it's common knowledge to never buy products on the 1st day, when I found this at the FUNimation booth, and only 2minutes walking around, I had to have it!!! It was only $15, and you can't find this really anywhere, normally!! What a fantastic find!

I'm so fortunate to have such wonderful friends, like the Harkiewiczes, who share my love for the wonderful world of Anime. It's sad that since graduating high school we never see each other, but at least we have San Japan every year! I can't wait to see them at the next con!

DCP Bucket List...

It's slowly getting closer and closer to August, so naturally I'm all over the place preparing for the big move! While looking on the Disney College Program's Blog, I found a post that included a lot of really good ideas for things to do while at the program! Most of them I already planned on doing (like eating the Kitchen Sink), but just seeing this gets me even more excited for the program to begin!! Ah! It needs to be August already!!

"1. Are you up for a challenge? Try the four park challenge in 24 hours. Visit each park and go on at least one attraction in each land.
2. Spend an entire day, open to close, at each of the parks. This will give you the opportunity to go on each ride, see every show and taste a variety of menu offerings.
3. Have at least one character dining experience.
4. Visit a moderate or deluxe Disney resort for marshmallow-roasting and a movie under the stars.
5. Go to the Magic Kingdom Park for the opening Welcome Show.
6. Watch the Wishes fireworks from inside the Magic Kingdom Park, either from one of the rides or while standing in front of the castle.
7. Go hunting for hidden Mickeys – they’re everywhere!
8. Go to the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and try the “Kitchen Sink Challenge”.

9. Join at least one Disney VoluntEARS event. Bi-weekly trips to the Give Kids the World Village are a great way to get involved. You can sign up through the Disney Service Center.
10. Sign up for Magic Backstage events; a cast member-exclusive.
11. Sign up for at least one class or seminar offered to Disney Internships and Programs participants. World of Culture is one of the seminars that you can sign up for through the Disney Service Center.
12. Head over to Mickey’s Retreat, Walt Disney World’s private cast member recreation area, for some fun in the sun.
13. Eat around the world at Epcot, and if you’re 21 years old (or older) you can responsibly try drinks around the world too.
14. Go on a Disney cruise. You’ll get to see Mickey and his friends in their cruise attire, plus take advantage of discounted cast member rates.
15. Meet all the characters, or at least your favorites.
16. Participate in at least one Disney marathon or half-marathon.
bucket_11
17. Attend as many Housing events as possible.
18. Go see the Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
19. Get selected to be the Rebel Spy on Star Tours, located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
20. Try every soft drink at Club Cool in Epcot.
21. Of course, get your picture taken with both Mickey and Minnie Mouse together.
22. Eat a turkey leg. My personal favorite snack!
23. Eat a dole whip. (Almost everyone else’s favorite snack!)
24. Go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at night and you’ll get to see some amazing animals with high-tech night-vision goggles.
25. On rainy days, explore the Resort Hotels. Each Resort has its own unique theme; this includes a variety of decorations and dining experiences.
26. See all of the parades and shows at each Disney Theme Park.
27. Learn about the people behind the names on the windows of Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom Park.
28. Set up at least one meet-and-greet if you’re looking to further your career with The Walt Disney Company.
29. Make sure to take lots of pictures! You’ll never forget the time you spent here on the program, but looking back at the pictures you took will always keep those magical memories fresh.
30. Most importantly, have fun! This program will be one of the best times of your life; I know it was for me!"

Here's the link to this post- they're always posting new things for everyone and really useful tips for those participating in the program, so take a look!

Shine Bright, Kaleido Star...

~*Friday, April 17th*~

As I've mentioned, this past Spring semester I took a Movement II class & it was absolutely amazing! I had been wanting to take this class since my first year at UNT and it was so worth the wait! We got to learn and do so many things that I never had done before- I'm going to miss it so much!

The circus day was really what I was looking forward to all semester! As many people know, I absolutely love Acrobatics, Circus Skills, Stunts, and everything in-bewteen. I couldn't wait to get to work on the silks!! (*w*)

1st Attempt at Inverting
This wonderful place is known as The Lone Star Circus (http://www.lonestarcircus.com), located here in the DFW area. The space is shared with a Gymnastics studio and they each have classes for children and adults. If ever given the opportunity, everyone should visit!

Starlet Mattie
We began the day with a Trampoline Warm-Up. With very little trampoline experience under my belt, after the few minutes we spent in various trampoline circuits, I was already exhausted..! After the trampoline we were allowed to play in the foam pit! It was a lot of fun, but once you went in, it was quite the struggle to swim out! I have videos from both the trampoline and the foam-pit, and when I get the chance, I would love to share them!
Strike a Pose!
Finally we began work on the silks. We were each separated to our own silks and then taught the basics of wrapping our hands, where to hold our arms, and being able to support ourselves. We worked on Inversions, various Poses, and how to Climb.
A Whole New World
Being inverted was surprisingly very comfortable and quite relaxing- easily my favorite. The different poses were fun to work and beautiful to watch; however, climbing was so not... I just could not do it! (>_<) With no abdominal or upper arm strength, I got no where, haha. But it was awesome to see some of the others reach the top!
Flawless David
After we had learned all that was necessary, our instructor let us go free! As long as we stayed on the circus half of the space, we could play with anything. Besides silks, there were trapeze, an aerial hoop and a  couple of tightropes. Of course, since this was a place for beginners to learn, everything was close to the ground for safety purposes, but it was still so much fun!!
Angelic Sahara
Needless to say, I was extremely sore throughout the next week! The pain was so worth it, though. Before the end of the year we visited one more time (post soon to come), and although I was still unable to climb very far, I had a blast! My new summer goal: make it to the top of the silk!! I absolutely can not wait till I can go back to play! (^-^)
I'm a Kaleido Star
I've always been in love with circus skills since I first watched Kaleido Star so many years ago. I've always dreamed of getting to do the things Sora did and to play on the trapeze and everything else, and finally I have! Just goes to show: if you work hard and never give up, Dreams Do Come True! <3

Pixie Babble...

Been busy, yet, not really... I'm working on classes this summer in order to finish off my degree, thankfully all but 1of them is online! I've also been on the hunt for work, plus I've been lazying around watching Criminal Minds and other things- you know, summer stuff..!
I figured I'd make a quick post since I haven't in a while. I have plenty to post about: Movement II Field Trips, My 2nd Niece being born, Graduation, etc... So, be sure to look out for those!
Before I leave, though, I wanted to give out the link to Kassie's Blog:
I spent a good couple hours trying to create the perfect Disney Title for her until I finally came up with Pixie Babble! It came from the idea of her love of Tinkerbell and the Disney Fairies films as well as her love of Monster High. Ok, I know, how is this even remotely related to Monster High? Well, easy: Kassie mentioned wanting to title her blog something like, "The Ghostly Gossip," and from there I just looked up synonyms of "gossip" and found "babble," and by randomly putting words together in my head I came up with Pixie Babble! And, personally, I think Pixie Babble sounds absolutely adorable, so I'm glad she picked it!
Another thing I helped her with was the, I guess, slogan of her blog: "Faith, Trust, and Frying Pans!" I still laugh every time I say it..! Obviously, this combines her two favorite Disney things- Tangled and Pixie Hollow, so that one was easy.
So, if you want another blog to add to your list, visit Pixie Babble! She's been posting regularly these past couple weeks, plus she did the Disney Challenge I gave her! We'll both be covering our experience at the Disney College Program this Fall, and I can't wait!! Stay Tuned!

Cramped in California...#tbt

Seemed that everyone wanted to visit California this past summer... For 3days we were housing 15people under one roof. Sure, Dad may have a big house, but still..!
My Aunt Sharon and Uncle Jesse, along with my cousins (Michael & Laurel) and two of their friends (Alissa and Anna) were in California to visit and go to Disneyland; my step-mom (Jennifer) had invited her sister (Sherry) with her husband and son (Michael & Rysland) to stay since they would be moving to California in the fall; and eventually we were joined by Suzette and Coraline, and of course my dad, brother Richie, and myself make 15! They all flew in on separate days but for 3days their visits overlapped- interesting how it all worked out...
It was, as my father said, "like we were housing a military camp, with all the bodies sprawled out everywhere..!"
It certainly sucked after having the place to myself for weeks then to suddenly be kicked out to a couch, haha, but it was definitely fun. Dinner was always an interesting adventure. Not gonna lie, though, I love my family, but when we're all crammed in close quarters like that, you get tired real fast... I was pretty happy when they all left & it was just Suzette, Cora, and me..! (-u-)

Pooh's Corner: DCP Character Audition...

Wow, I'm actually pretty proud of myself for keeping up with this!
Here's the 3rd video of the DCP Application Process! I had fun with this one, mainly because I got to finally have Kassie in a video! I was also super excited to show off the Pooh Bear TsumTsum she got me as an early graduation present! He's so cute! I'm also pretty proud of myself for having recorded this before midnight- see that back there? That's the sun! Wow! But, of course, it's only because I'm currently in Finals and really have nothing better to do, haha...

This video is pretty self-explanatory. What I love about the program is how they try to make everything real easy to understand. As mentioned, the audition process was very simple. Now, going in, I had completely different expectations- I had seen another video that said we would talk with the casting directors and be measured 1st, then go into the dance audition, all in a big group; however, we did things a bit backwards. I'm certain it was because there were so many applicants, they had to really divide and conquer. After signing in, Kassie and I were sent to a small dance studio with approximately 20-30 others. For the next few hours we sat around, talked, got to know each, and even played a few group games. Eventually we were taken into a larger studio to meet with the choreographer. We learned a very simple 4-step dance routine to a remix of "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride," and as soon as we were done learning, he sent for the Casting Director. She sat at the front of the room while we performed in groups of 4 across the floor. There was enough space for 3times through the steps, and when you reached the end, you had to scurry away to allow room for the next group. And that was it. After a few minutes of deliberation, the Casting Director called out some numbers- the lucky few stayed for the next round and the rest of us left. (Although I have an idea as to what happened in the following hours of the audition, having not experienced it 1st hand, I'd rather just leave it there). And this is where my DCP Character Audition Adventure ends...!
Thousands upon thousand of students across the country were trying for the few hundred spots available as a character audition, so I was totally ok with not making the cut. Honestly, I had a blast. I got to meet some cool people and geek out about Disney- what could be better?? What I do know, is at the end of my Fall Program I will totally try again!
I would also like to add, for those of you unsure whether you should try the audition or not: DO IT!! I promise you'll have a lot of fun! Also, don't be nervous. I was lucky- 2days prior to the audition I received my Acceptance Letter, so I wasn't nervous at all walking into the audition. Sure, I was a bit shy when it came to the actual performance, and of course I tripped all over myself, but I didn't care- I knew that no matter what I was going to Disney! Remember: the choreographer and casting directors are all super nice and truly want to see you succeed. And even if you screw up, just keep smiling!
The role I really want isn't a Princess, like most girls I know, but a Parade Performer. So in the next year, I'll be sure to work harder than ever at my dancing skills and trying NOT to be shy when it counts the most! (^-^)

Terrifying Threes... #tbt

My Cora turned 3years old this summer!

Although Coraline is my niece, not my child, I always think people on my Instagram assume she's my daughter. Just because I post a million photos of my Princess Coraline doesn't mean she's my kid! But, still, Cora is my absolute favorite model- she's always doing something weird/ funny/ cute & I just can't help myself! (>v<)

It's kind of become tradition for Cora to have multiple birthday celebrations- 1 in California with my Dad and the rest of our Cali familia, 1 small little celebration on her actual birthday, and then a 3rd one with my Mom and all of us in San Antonio. Guess those are the benefits of being the first grandchild!

Last year, while in California we celebrated at one of my favorite locations: Ariel's Grotto! Although it's super expensive and the selection is very limited, I still think the food is great and it's always fun to meet the princesses!

The last time we were here Suzette picked out Cora's Belle dress (since she's her mother, I guess it was ok..!) But this year it was my turn! And the best part- Cora takes after her aunty with Ariel being her favorite Disney Princess! As soon as she saw her Ariel dress she started stripping down, and was so ready to transform into a Princess!

The dress just happened to also match Suzette's hair, haha.

And, as always, I was sure to take tons of pictures of my Cora's Princess Debut (again)!

Every time we celebrate at Disneyland, I get super excited. I hope this can stay a tradition of ours! And it's funny because my dad is always saying that Suzette and I seem more excited to meet the princesses than Cora does... And, honestly, I wouldn't deny that, haha... I truly just love being able to share my passion for Disney with my Cora! She loves the Wonderful World of Disney almost as much as I do!

And continuing with the Disney Theme! This was the cute little cake my mom got Cora for her actual birthday! Although we have parties on a different day, it's always nice to have a little sweet something in honor of our day of birth!

Cora really is lucky, like me, and gets to celebrate her birthday several times over. Since my birthday is during the holidays, I usually get multiple celebrations, too, just so I can feel extra special, haha. (^-^)

For the San Antonio birthday party, Suzette and Billy wanted to celebrate in their new home! Since they had just moved into their duplex a couple months earlier, it was also their first party- what a nice way to break it in!

It was lots of fun, as always, and pretty laid back. Friends and other little ones were invited to come enjoy our home-made sweets and all the water games! I helped make a couple of our little snacks- there were so many, I wish I could put all the pictures on here! And not only were they super easy to make and really yummy, they were healthy too! These little clams were mine and everyone's favorite! They went out within the first hour!

As a person who's not into big parties and such, I always love little celebrations like these. You can relax in your natural environment and enjoy the company of your friends and family. The Harkiewiczes were able to come too! I made sure to invite them- firstly because Sarah and Cora share the same birthday (7/11)! And secondly, since little Stevie is around the same age as Cora. I really hope they enjoyed the party, because I certainly loved having them and I really hope they'll be at our future parties! I can't wait to watch Cora and Stevie grow up!! <3 <3

Pooh's Corner: DCP Application Process...

2nd Video of my Disney College Program Vlog Series: Pooh's Corner! In this video I go through the application process for joining the program, as well as address the reason behind the Vlog's Title. Here's the one thing that I forgot to put in the video about the process: It's very important to sign up EARLY! You have to remember that thousands of students are also applying all over the country and spots fill up fast! As soon as the application opens, sign up as soon as you can!
One other thing that I took out was me talking about the filming process of these videos. Basically, for the time being, I will be using my computer until I can get a proper vlogging camera, so please bear with me! And who knows, maybe I'll actually record one of these videos with natural lighting at a decent hour when I don't have to try and be quiet??

Attack On Titan Addicted... #tbt

Just as the title says: I've become Attack On Titan Addicted...!
It all started one summer day when my brother and I were looking for a show to watch together. We kept scanning through the various titles available on Netflix and when we passed by this show, "Attack On Titan," I figured why not?? I had heard a lot of great things about the show in the past year and had been told several times over that I NEEDED to watch it. 20minutes later, as the credits began to roll, I sat in awe. I looked over at my brother who was in control of the remote and said, "NEXT EPISODE!" and that was it.
I completed the whole 1st season in just two days. Poor Nicky (my brother) wanted to watch something else but I just kept saying, "NEXT EPISODE" over and over. Around 1AM when he disappeared off to his bedroom, I remained behind to keep watching. I was so annoyed when I had to "spend time with the family" because I just wanted to watch my show! (haha) After the 1st Season was over I was ready for the next one, too bad there wasn't one..! I searched and searched all over the internet only to be disappointed. There was only the 1st season and season 2 wouldn't be put into production for another couple years! WHAT THE HELL!? I couldn't stand it. That night I watched all of the OVAs and even downloaded a Manga App for my phone JUST so that I could have more Shingeki no Kyojin in my life!
To this day I've seen the whole 1st season 5times over. After I finished it by myself I completed it with Nicky, then again with my sister, Suzette, back-to-back. After a couple months I couldn't stand the lack of Attack On Titan in my life, so I rewatched it... again.... And only a couple months ago I introduced the show to one of my best friends, Kim. I've watched the first episode several times over, whilst introducing the series to others, and I've read the manga from beginning to end twice over, as well as all the spin-offs. I'm completely caught up, even, and I can't stand it!! Plainly put: I'm just a little, kinda, obsessed with Attack On Titan.... (>____<)
Don't ask me why, it's just such a damn good show! It's one of those psychological, action-packed, horror, thrillers that really makes you think. In the beginning it's all about the blood, the gore, the Titans. The farther along you get in the series you really start to wonder: "What are these 'Titans'?" and "Where did they come from??" And it's those questions and your own curiosity that fuel your need for more! The series continues to feed you more unanswered questions and you drive yourself crazy trying to find the answers. Another major aspect about the show that I absolutely LOVE is the fact that no character is safe. It's very much like Game Of Thrones where you may grow attached to a character for several episodes and then suddenly- bam- they're dead. And although it's heartbreaking, it drives the story on so well and I can never get enough! And don't even get me started on those fucking amazing 3-D Maneuvering Gear!!
I'd rather not sit here and give a synopsis/ review of the show, because I'm sure to spoil it. It's just one of those things you just have to see it for yourself! Just take my word for it, I've watched a lot of shows, like a LOT, of all types and genres and this one has jumped into my top favorites so fast, it's quite ridiculous. I know it took a good year for me to finally watch it (I hate getting into things when the hype is so high- what a hipster thing to say, haha), but now I see why it's so popular!
All-in-all, I fucking love, love, LOVE this show. I've been thinking about it a lot more recently, and I've realized that I have yet to rewatch it in English Dub. I'll most likely do that soon...! If you haven't seen this show, and you love crazy awesome shows with action, blood, and a fucking wicked story plot- WATCH IT. Whether it's in English as Attack On Titan, or in Japanese as Shingeki no Kyojin, it's an amazing show and I absolutely can not wait for more!!

P.S. my favorite characters are totally Levi and Armin... and maybe Eren and Sasha... Just saying... <3

Throwback Thursday...

I realized that I have a lot of incomplete posts from last summer, many that I would love to complete! SO, I decided to go ahead and complete and post them on Thursdays as a sort of Throwback! That way I can still post the stories as well as keep myself disciplined in making sure I am posting AT LEAST once a week! (^-^)
And for a quick update, since I haven't posted much recently: I've been super busy and will soon have plenty to post about! On top of Graduation and Disney College (vlog being renamed to Pooh's Corner), my Movement II class has been AMAZING! We had field trips to the circus and to a pole dancing class, and so much more! My sister is having her baby THIS weekend, &&& I no longer work at Subway! So, ya, plenty to post and catch-up on, so stay tuned! (^-^)

Dreams Come True...

I finally got to upload the first video for my Disney College Program Vlog! The recording is a  bit shaky, the lighting sucks, and I'm completely scattered-brained throughout most of it- but I had fun making it! I recorded this on March 18th, and it only got uploaded on April 9th... How sad... But now that I have a computer to use I'll be sure to create more of my DCP Vlog Series: Dreams Come True! I'll also be sure to figure out how I can make it better... (-u-) I'm looking into cameras that would be better for Vlogging, but it may be a while till I can purchase one. For now, though, here is my first video!

The Final Stretch...

Surprise, surprise- I haven't posted anything in MONTHS even though I said that I would... Well, here we are again, and in a different year. But most importantly, in the final months of my Senior Year at The University of North Texas!
Everyone keeps asking whether I'm excited or not- of course I am! I'm excited to finally be DONE with school! After 16years of constant schooling I am so ready to move onto the next chapter of my life! Sure, I may be scared to "grow up" and have to start doing "adult" things like paying more bills and finding a way to live on my own- but I am SO ready for something else in my life! It's been a bit difficult this past year, though, mainly because my heart just hasn't been into it. I never want to go to classes (unless they're my Theatre classes) and I hate having to do my homework. Plus I'm having to juggle all my classes (18hours) and work && labs- it's a whole lot of work & I am exhausted! There's also the added bonus of having easy access to constant distractions (Social Media & Netflix) and my distractions almost always win the battle...! (-u-)
Anyways, yes, I am excited to graduate! But what I'm even more excited for is what's happening after I graduate: DISNEY COLLEGE! After all these years of hoping & dreaming of the opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program, I made it in!!! My current roommate, Kassie, also made it- so not only will I be living the dream working at Disney World, I'll be able to experience all of the magic & wonder with one of my best friends!! The program is actually one of the main reasons why I'm back to blogging. Throughout the program I'm wanting to Vlog, so naturally having a blog going alongside the postings would be relevant. I'm not too sure how it's going to work (mainly since I've never Vlogged before) but I'll figure it out! I can't wait to get started- I actually already have the 1st video ready for my to edit & post in the upcoming week! So, here's the beginning of my Disney Vlog Journey, and the continuation of this whole "Blogging Thing" <3

1st World Problems

Although it's awful to think of how true that hashtag is, it's also hilariously sad, and literally my life these past few months.... (-.\)
I had originally planned (as always) to keep up with my blogging once summer was over. I even had specific topics ready for me to post about; however, it just so happened that my life become chock-full of "1st World Problems."
A lot of the problems, even though they seem ridiculously childish on the surface, turned out to just create stress all over my life. The first problem that arose: Financial Aid. Yes, my mother completed everything only 2weeks before school starting, BUT I should have it by now! So why don't I?? Because the government, and whoever runs the Federal Financial Aid Department, decided that they just had to select me out of the thousands of students at my school to go through an extra "verification process!" Apparently, it's a process that 1/3 students are selected for, and I just happened to be the lucky winner! So, basically, I get to wait double the amount of time to recieve absolutely any financial aid from my school. But, don't worry, American Government, I totally don't mind having Zero Dollars to my name every single day, living paycheck to paycheck, asking family members to borrow thousands of dollars to pay off school, begging my apartment complex for extensions, or even having to donate plasma twice a-week just so I can buy toilet paper and cat food. Nope. Absolutely no problem... I'm just fortunate enough to work at Subway- at least I know what I'll be having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday! #1stWorldProblems
The next biggest issue that came to be since school started was my apartment having NO INTERNET. You never realize how much you love something till it's gone, and that is definitely what happened after I moved into my apartment! Inorder to get internet, we had to purchase an ethernet cable and connect directly to the wall (which is really dumb given technology these days, honestly!) and, obviously, I didn't have the money to do so! After my 1st paycheck- I got one! Too bad my poor Macbook, being as old as it is, absolutely refused to connect! I was so depressed! The only times I could use the internet was when I was either at work or on-campus and once I was on, I was glued to my phone. It's sad, but I'm actually not super surprised with how badly addicted I am to the internet. Actually, it's more that I'm addicted to Social Media and NETFLIX, to be honest. And so, this problem was not remedied until I had been moved in for a month and a half when I found a Wi-Fi Reciever for cheap! Apparently, my computer only likes to connect to Wi-Fi Internet, so now I can be connected to the world!! Ok, it sounds ridiculous, but it wasn't just that I couldn't Tweet for a little over a month, because I had no internet, I also couldn't do my homework or check my emails! In today's society, where schools and teachers are all about technology and online communications, a student must be able to have internet access at all times! It's sad, but true! During this time when I had no connection to the internet world, I would stay after at work till 3-4AM just doing internet, and STILL have to get up for classes in the morning... It really sucked... #1stWorldProblems
Now add all that up along with work almost everyday &&& 19credit hours at school- you can see why I've been a bit out of touch and extremely stressed out! Since returning to Denton, life has been extremely difficult, which really sucks since it's my Senior Year... But thankfully, things are slowly starting to get better. Since these are all 1st World Problems, I know that I can get through this, and that's what keeps me going. As long as I keep smiling and doing my best, all the pieces will fall into place... eventually! (^-^) #JustKeepSwimming

Find What You Love...

A couple weekends ago was San Japan. I had a great time hanging with my friends and getting to see a bunch of new guests, but I also had a lot of time to think. Firstly, one of the guests was Team FourStar, the creators of Dragonball Z Abridged, and so many other parodies. I'm not gonna lie: before they joined the guest list for San Japan, I had no idea who they were. I knew that DBZ Abridged existed, I just never actually watched their stuff (no offense); however, they made for great brains for me to pick. A number of the Team FourStar group began their Voice Acting careers online auditioning in forums and putting their voices to a number of fandubs. And look at them now!
Another guest, and personal favorite to make conversations with, was Chris Ayres. I always enjoy his panels and listening to him talk, and I always take away some fantastic new advice, this year especially. He told the panel something that I have been contemplating ever since: "Find what you love and figure out how to make money with it." Haha, I just knew that it was perfect.
So, what are just some things that I love? Acting, Anime, Reading, Drawing, Television, Singing, Disney, Photography, Japanese Culture, Travel, and so much more! The next task for me was to find a way to put it all together. Obviously, if I wanted to make money with acting, I would have to (uh-doi) start auditioning! I have to work on myself and try stepping out of the box, become better at auditioning and stop being so judgmental about myself and my abilities! Of course, Acting would definitely work well with the world of Television and Anime; after all, I became a Theatre Major so that I could Voice Act, right?? Basically, everything that I love can work together, and if I was able to spend the rest of my life doing all of those things, I could die the happiest person on Earth.
Everything really came into perspective just the other day when I was editing an "About Me" section on my FUNimation Profile. I was trying to figure out just how could I sum up, me?? After a lot of thinking, here's what I came up with:

Senior in College, Majoring in Theatre with a Minor in Japanese.
Current Shows: Detective Conan, Attack on Titan, Fairytail
Dreams for the Future: Graduate, Disney College, VA in a CLAMP series and a Ghibli Production, work with Emma Watson, publish my FanFiction, Poke'mon: Princess Debut, & travel the world!

And after I read that over a couple times I realized how perfect it was! Yes, this exactly sums up who I am and who I would like to become. The only thing I would like to add (because I totally just thought of it) would be: "Produce a Disney Cover Album." There, now it's perfect.
I've realized that my brain has tried jumping all over the place trying to figure out just what I want to do with my life, but honestly, this is it. Now that I'll be moving into an apartment, I'll be able to have my own space (finally). I want to start auditioning online again, getting my voice out there. I want to try to audition for as many things as I can around the DFW area. I want to take as many workshops and/or acting classes that are available to me. I want to become a stronger performer, and once that happens, everything will fall into place. I know it's going to be immensely difficult, especially with school and work, but I'll manage. Just like my mom tells me, "You always seem to say you'll do something, and no matter what, you find a way to make it happen." Well, now I've said it, so that means I have to go out there and make my dreams come true.

Find Your Why...

I really should never say that I'm actually going to keep up with this blog, because I honestly never do... When I was younger, I had so many diaries, too, but I never actually used them- I would always just forget. But I suppose a blog is just like anything you do in your life: if you want to stay consistent, you have know your "why."
Why do I want to blog? What even is the point?? Now, I know I've actually posted something about this before, and I'm not too sure whether my mind has changed much. One major reason definitely has to do with the fact that I'm a packrat- I love reminiscing about happy memories, finding nostalgic treasures in the back of my closet, and pictures and blog posts (at least to me) are basically the same thing. Sure, some of these posts are dumb slice-of-life bits and others are just my own personal ramblings, but so what??
Another reason, I suppose, would have to be my inner performer calling out for attention. Yes, I'm a Theatre Major- I want to become a big-time Voice Actor and, yes, I will admit, I would absolutely LOVE, love, loooove to be in a film! Ok, I've said it!! I'm much more shy than most people think, and sure I talk a lot, but I really do get nervous easily. These past few years, I have absolutely loved watching my fellow Theatre Majors stepping on-stage and into the spotlight, they always look so beautiful, radiant, and confident! I feel so happy for them because I wish I were them. I hear it all the time from my friends that they think that I, Lisette Monique Diaz, is so outspoken and confident, and so easy to talk to people, but really I'm not at all like that. But I want to be like that.
I've realized several time over these past few years that I want to be more confident with myself and my abilities, I want to be able to stand on stage, or in front of a mic without wanting to shy away from the crowd. I've gotten better, I know that, but I want to be more.
Maybe it's because I'm about to start my Senior Year in College and I'm getting immensely nervous about where I'm headed, or maybe it's just another summer revelation, who knows..? But what I do know is that I really have to dig deep and start working. I'm always telling people that if they want something bad enough, they have to put in the work for it- and I fully believe in that, but maybe it's time that I actually started to show it, too. I have so many dreams that I want to make real, so maybe it's about time I started making them happen.

Blessed be the Summer...

School is out and I have been on Summer Break for 2 weeks now.
I am immensely hoping that I will have a lot more free time this summer than I normally do, if that is the case, I will definitely have plenty of time to blog more than just once every couple months! (-u-)
School ended with a dull and definite flop. Near the end of the semester, I just couldn't wait till my finals were over. With the combination of school, work, Herbalife, and dealing with my roommate, I just needed a break! In order to relax during these past few weeks, I had spent most of my time sleeping and/or watching episode after episode of Poke'mon! I am honestly proud to say that as of last week I have officially watched every single English episode of the Poke'mon Anime!!! Don't I feel cool...??
It's already nearing the end of May, so I'm worried that this summer will pass much too quickly! My plans for the summer (besides working on myself and catching up on shows) is almost the same as always. On June 1st, I will be flying out to California for a month. At the end of June and beginning of July, my family from Dallas, as well as my sister (Suzette) and Coraline will be joining me in California for a short time! I'm really excited to have everyone there all at once! It'll most likely be crazy and hectic- but that just means there'll be a ton of fun ahead! After California, I'll be returning home to San Antonio for San Japan and to spend more time with my mom and other family. Luckily, I won't be having to head back up to Denton till August! And what's more exciting?? Come August I'll be moving into my own apartment! I am so ready for my own space- I can't wait!
And so, now I'll just go ahead and cross my fingers that I can enjoy every bit of this summer! Hope everyone out there is enjoying their break so far, as well! (^-^)

Obsessions...

Although I said that this semester was starting to look like my easiest yet, it seems to have become one of my most busiest!! I think it mainly stems from the fact that, not only am I going to school for 15hours plus a lab, but I am also working on developing my Herbalife self- as a person & business! &&& what am I doing during any down-time??? Not my homework. And definitely not sleeping, that's for sure! For the past few weeks, I have spent countless hours watching Youtube videos, several series, &&& watching a lot- a LOT- of Poke'mon.
More recently, I've subscribed to a ton of new Youtube channels, but hardly any of them am I actually up-to-date on their webisodes. So, I decided to start fixing that & began watching nothing but Youtube channels! The first channels that I always make sure I'm up-to-date on are Monster High, Eyeshine and Ariana Grande's personal channel. I am also caught up on several channels dedicated to JPop & KPop dance covers, sadly however, it's been months since they've posted any new videos. Also, Ozzy's videos- mainly because he's hilarious & fun, but also I'm proud that he's happy! I may not have known him very well while he attended school here at UNT, but when I did talk with Ozzy, he seemed awesome & sweet, and had great potential as a performer- who knew he would eventually become a Youtube Sensation??
Me as a Teen Vogue Intern
The channel that I just finally caught up with is Jenna Marbles, and yes, I'm kind of obsessed with her videos. She's just so funny!! And I love how she just doesn't give a fuck what people say about her, in fact, she embraces it, and that's awesome!
Along with Jenna Marbles videos, I've become a bit obsessed with Teen Vogue. I'm subscribed to their channel, I follow them on Twitter & Instagram, &&& I play the Teen Vogue: Me Girl app every day. It's pretty sad.
What else is sad is how many more channels I have become subscribed to since starting my Youtube Catch-Up Spree!! While watching videos, I'll see another video in the sidebar that looks or sounds intriguing, click on it, & 5seconds later I'm subscribed to them! I've found a ton of bloggers, fashion channels, make-up tutorials, dancers & singers, and so many more channels that I have added to the ever-growing list of subscriptions.... I think I need help... (-__-)
As for television shows, I firstly completed Season 2 of The Legend of Korra!! And, holy geeze, it was so freaking fantastic!!! I can't wait till Season 3 comes out, because things can only get better & crazier from here on out!! I have finally completely caught up with The Walking Dead & am now watching Live, as well as The Talking Dead, on AMC every Sunday! I've fallen off of the Pretty Little Liars & Glee bandwagon these past few weeks, so I'll have to get to work on that!
A show that I have NOT neglected is Poke'mon. During Winter Break, I decided to try and catch myself up to the current season in Kalos, but I had to have watched every single episode! And not only the episodes, I followed the Poke'mon timeline closely and made sure to insert the Poke'mon movies whenever they came up. As of last night, I am through Season 12, Poke'mon: Galactic Battles. Now that's a lot of Poke'mon!!
Spring Break is just starting up, so I'm really hoping I'll get some time to relax, but since I'm home with family, I doubt it. SO- Till Next Time- Stay Tuned!
