Stunts and Combat for Film!

HiHi!!
I've posted before about my Movement III class:
Stunts & Combat for Film
And how much fun and hard work it's been.
I found this NTTV Clip to Help explain what we've been doing:

&&&&&
Here's the Final Product:
It's crazy to think that several months worth
of training turned into a 30minute video!

End of the Semester

HiHi!!
It's been a while,
but thank goodness school is almost over!!
Before it officially hit Summer Break,
I figured I could share some of the last big events
that I got to be apart of this last month of school.

I finally put in my 2weeks at Subway!
Now I'm solely working on
Herbalife!!

I love all of my Teammates!
Walking into the Club is Always
so much fun, since everyone's so
full of energy!

& in just 3Days
I sold 500VP and jumped up to
Senior Consultant!

& On the completely opposite spectrum-
UNT Celebrated Earth Day by giving out
Free Food!

I'm normally not a hot dog fan,
but I can't pass up FREE FOOD...!

We also celebrated
William Shakespeare's 449th Birthday
in my Theatre History Class!
It was great because we had just finished a show,
"The Lady Revealed,"
the weekend before
and the playwright just so happened to be
my teacher, Dr. Harris!
((the play is about Shakespeare & his Dark Lady))

& just yesterday,
Mandy, Stephanie, Kassie, & I
(Team Avatar)
took a little field trip to H-Mart,
a Dallas based Korean shopping center.
Their dumplings were so good,
I can't wait to go back!

Finals Week starts tomorrow for me,
wish me luck!!

Morph

HiHi!!
We FINALLY finished with the last
Stunts & Combat Short Film!

The Final Piece was Originally scheduled
to be recorded the same weekend of
"All the Right Words,"
However, we got rained out.
Originally, Javon, our Director,
wanted us to do a Power Ranger themed shoot.
Instead, we changed it to a
Video Game!!

Since we changed the movie,
we were able to shoot all of the fights
separately in a span of a month.

 Our Fighters:
Tiffany - The Classic Nerd
CJ - My Big Brother

Javon texted me:
"Dress Anyway that'll make you
look like a little girl."
Ended up in Pig-tails, hat, a T-Shirt, & a colorful skirt
for my "Tacky-Tomboy-Little-Girl"

~Easiest Director's Note EVER~

To Be Honest,
the more I got to work on making these films,
the more I realized how much I loved it!
I don't know....
I'm a Theatre Major,
but maybe I wouldn't mind working on other,
bigger projects????

Culture Week

HiHi!!

Apparently, there's one week every year
where UNT celebrates various cultures around the world.
As always,
I just happened upon a number of festivities,
but I did make it a point to visit
both the Japanese and Korean Festivals.

Kana, my friend from Theatre,
ended up being the ONLY
Japanese Representation During the
Culture Parade!
(>-<)

They set up a number of booths
for the Japanese festival,
ranging for gaming to travel-
I was surprised how many people showed up!

I hate how easy this game looks,
but after a few tries,
I got me a Balloon!!

Also tried on some Yukatas!

The Korean Festival, sadly,
ended up being smaller than the Japanese one,
but they did have yummy food
& a lot of fun games!

Kana & I got our Faces Painted!

I can't wait till I get back to studying my Japanese!!
The better I get,
the more I want to learn other languages,
Korean Included!!

Birthday Surprise!

HiHi!!
For 2weekends in a row,
I decided to make the 4-6hour trip home.
Last weekend,
I visited for the Easter Holiday;
This weekend,
I decided to surprise my mom & little brother
for their birthdays!

April 7th seems to be a very popular birthday!
I can count 7people I know that share it!
This year,
my mom was turning 41
& my brother, Nicky, was turning 13!!
Neither of them knew that I was driving up for the weekend,
I spent the whole day with Suzette preparing a cake.
& Before the night was up,
I was walking into the house with their surprise:
Me & a Cake!!

It's Become a Sort of Tradition
that when I return home,
I become a Personal Cora Photographer:
Coraline Trying to Sit
in the Big Girl Chair

Making Faces With Grandma

Cora is Going to be Such a
Girly-Girl!

All The Right Words

HiHi!!
We finally filmed the 2nd Stunts & Combat short film!

The film, "All the Right Words,"
is basically about a group of cheerleaders
beating up on a bunch of guys,
or as our director put it,
"Attack of the Cheerleaders!"

It was a long 8hour shoot
and a bit exhausting due to all the repetition,
but overall, it was a ton of fun!!

&, of course,
this post would be incomplete
if I didn't have a butt-load of
behind-the-scenes photos!!

It was an easy 10minutes in the make-up chair,
thank goodness our director, Justin,
is an actual coach at this gym!

Here's how the Eyeshadow looked!
It was super glittery
& I was nervous about how I was going to get it off!

&&& the Final Product!
Hair super high up, super intense cheer eyeshadow,
& a simple tank with our symbol,
Go, Wilson Koalas!!

 Finally getting to relax after
a few hours of shooting!

Cast Photos
Meet the Janices!
You don't know how HARD it was
to keep a straight face with all of their ridiculousness!!!
Sound Check
(^-^)
Recording in Process:
QUIET ON SET!!!
I've Always Wondered What it would be like
to be a Cheerleader
............
Never Again

Poke'mon TV App

HiHi!!
I've been so busy these past few weeks!
But one thing I've made plenty of time for:
The new Poke'mon TV App!!!
Anyone who's a Poke'mon fan just has to get this app!!
Ever since the day it was released,
I've been HOOKED!!
I'm always checking the app
to see if there are new episodes loaded!
And every day I make sure to watch
at least one episode!
I love being able to watch shows from every region,
and I've even gotten used to the
"new ash"
...well... sort of...

Shay's Story

HiHi!!

Scott Westerfeld has been one of my favorite authors
since I read the Uglies Series back in Middle School.
The Uglies Series is a futuristic world,
where the population is being socially brainwashed.
It's a great series,
and there's been back-and-forth talk about
a movie these past few years!
It just so happens,
Scott Westerfeld is a bit of a Manga/ Anime fan as well!
So just last year,
he released his first Manga
based on the Uglies.
The Manga series follows one of the main characters,
Shay, and her perspective of the story.
It's fascinating to see the story unfold from a whole new perspective,
as well as getting to see all of the original characters
in a Manga form!

So, if you're looking for a good series
that's a fun and easy read,
I highly recommend the Uglies series!!
((Especially before the pre-movie hype begins!))

Fight!!

HiHi!!
This semester I'm taking Movement III.
In this "Special Problems" class,
the Theatre and RTVF students are teaming together
to create short films for Stunts and Combat.
The first film to be recorded was "Fight":
based off the film, "Fight Club,"
all the actors were ready for this intensive performance!
Since I wasn't an actor for this film,
I was asked to help keep track of the audio and video files.
And although we were all freezing,
I think I was having more fun filming than the actors!
Then again,
I was one of the few people
allowed to wear a jacket!
It was great learning how a real shoot works!
With all the stunts and throws,
hundreds of takes were necessary,
as well as a mat or too.
I love how close-knit this group has become!!
Especially after bonding in this weather!
 Things were getting INTENSE!
 Movie Magic!!
This is the only one of our films
that has blood in it-
so cool!!

Here's a Preview I made for the Short Film:

Picasso at the Lapin Agile

HiHi!!
It's been about a year since I had read the play,
Picasso at the Lapin Agile, by Steve Martin.
When it was announced that UNT would be putting the play on,
I already knew that as a Theatre major myself,
& knowing the comedy capabilities of the actors within the show,
this satirical comedy would be a hit!
Picasso at the Lapin Agile takes place in France in the year 1904.
A young Albert Einstein joins a friendly group of people in The Lapin Agile,
a bar where artists meet and discuss their futures.
The scientific genius, Einstein, comes face-to-face
with the talented young artist, Pablo Picasso,
& a battle between brain, wit, and skill ensues!
Although there is a bounty of crazed characters within the show,
the two primaries are the two historical figures themselves:
Pablo Picasso, 23, a Spanish painter currently stuck in his "blue period."
He is a well known womanizer and lover
in search for fame and beauty in his work.
Picasso is passionate about every aspect of his life
and believes that Einstein's scientific formulas have no beauty or purpose.
Albert Einstein, 25, a German physicist currently developing his general theory of relativity.
He is fully aware of the potential his manuscript holds for the future of science.
Einstein is passionate about his work
& strives to make the others understand the power of science for all life.
On the outer layers, this play may seem just a comedy,
but like every other story, this play has a super-objective
behind all the crude language and laughter.
In the turn of the century,
science and art take the lead in development over politics.
As I had expected,
I left the theatre still talking and laughing about the play with my friends.
I really liked the play as a hole,
especially the use of the character's French accents.
One of my favorite parts
was when they broke the fourth wall at the beginning
and interacted with the audience.
Overall, the actors did a fantastic job with the play;
after all, comedy is one of the hardest aspects in theatre to fulfill.
Picasso &Einstein were fun to watch throughout the story
& how they interacted with the other characters.

My only concern with the play
would be a few aspects in the design field.
The set was beautifully done, the actors used the whole space
& the music was periodical;
however, some lighting and costume choices were a bit distracting.
In the script, "The Stranger," or Elvis Presley,
plainly walks into the bar.
In this performance,
a spectacle was made of of his entrance.
Elvis' costume was also another distraction:
it was like a pixie had attacked him- too much glitter!
The only other piece of the performance
was a little comedy performance after the curtain call.
Sure, it was entertaining, but not necessary.
