Cramped in California...#tbt

Seemed that everyone wanted to visit California this past summer... For 3days we were housing 15people under one roof. Sure, Dad may have a big house, but still..!
My Aunt Sharon and Uncle Jesse, along with my cousins (Michael & Laurel) and two of their friends (Alissa and Anna) were in California to visit and go to Disneyland; my step-mom (Jennifer) had invited her sister (Sherry) with her husband and son (Michael & Rysland) to stay since they would be moving to California in the fall; and eventually we were joined by Suzette and Coraline, and of course my dad, brother Richie, and myself make 15! They all flew in on separate days but for 3days their visits overlapped- interesting how it all worked out...
It was, as my father said, "like we were housing a military camp, with all the bodies sprawled out everywhere..!"
It certainly sucked after having the place to myself for weeks then to suddenly be kicked out to a couch, haha, but it was definitely fun. Dinner was always an interesting adventure. Not gonna lie, though, I love my family, but when we're all crammed in close quarters like that, you get tired real fast... I was pretty happy when they all left & it was just Suzette, Cora, and me..! (-u-)

Pooh's Corner: DCP Character Audition...

Wow, I'm actually pretty proud of myself for keeping up with this!
Here's the 3rd video of the DCP Application Process! I had fun with this one, mainly because I got to finally have Kassie in a video! I was also super excited to show off the Pooh Bear TsumTsum she got me as an early graduation present! He's so cute! I'm also pretty proud of myself for having recorded this before midnight- see that back there? That's the sun! Wow! But, of course, it's only because I'm currently in Finals and really have nothing better to do, haha...

This video is pretty self-explanatory. What I love about the program is how they try to make everything real easy to understand. As mentioned, the audition process was very simple. Now, going in, I had completely different expectations- I had seen another video that said we would talk with the casting directors and be measured 1st, then go into the dance audition, all in a big group; however, we did things a bit backwards. I'm certain it was because there were so many applicants, they had to really divide and conquer. After signing in, Kassie and I were sent to a small dance studio with approximately 20-30 others. For the next few hours we sat around, talked, got to know each, and even played a few group games. Eventually we were taken into a larger studio to meet with the choreographer. We learned a very simple 4-step dance routine to a remix of "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride," and as soon as we were done learning, he sent for the Casting Director. She sat at the front of the room while we performed in groups of 4 across the floor. There was enough space for 3times through the steps, and when you reached the end, you had to scurry away to allow room for the next group. And that was it. After a few minutes of deliberation, the Casting Director called out some numbers- the lucky few stayed for the next round and the rest of us left. (Although I have an idea as to what happened in the following hours of the audition, having not experienced it 1st hand, I'd rather just leave it there). And this is where my DCP Character Audition Adventure ends...!
Thousands upon thousand of students across the country were trying for the few hundred spots available as a character audition, so I was totally ok with not making the cut. Honestly, I had a blast. I got to meet some cool people and geek out about Disney- what could be better?? What I do know, is at the end of my Fall Program I will totally try again!
I would also like to add, for those of you unsure whether you should try the audition or not: DO IT!! I promise you'll have a lot of fun! Also, don't be nervous. I was lucky- 2days prior to the audition I received my Acceptance Letter, so I wasn't nervous at all walking into the audition. Sure, I was a bit shy when it came to the actual performance, and of course I tripped all over myself, but I didn't care- I knew that no matter what I was going to Disney! Remember: the choreographer and casting directors are all super nice and truly want to see you succeed. And even if you screw up, just keep smiling!
The role I really want isn't a Princess, like most girls I know, but a Parade Performer. So in the next year, I'll be sure to work harder than ever at my dancing skills and trying NOT to be shy when it counts the most! (^-^)

Terrifying Threes... #tbt

My Cora turned 3years old this summer!

Although Coraline is my niece, not my child, I always think people on my Instagram assume she's my daughter. Just because I post a million photos of my Princess Coraline doesn't mean she's my kid! But, still, Cora is my absolute favorite model- she's always doing something weird/ funny/ cute & I just can't help myself! (>v<)

It's kind of become tradition for Cora to have multiple birthday celebrations- 1 in California with my Dad and the rest of our Cali familia, 1 small little celebration on her actual birthday, and then a 3rd one with my Mom and all of us in San Antonio. Guess those are the benefits of being the first grandchild!

Last year, while in California we celebrated at one of my favorite locations: Ariel's Grotto! Although it's super expensive and the selection is very limited, I still think the food is great and it's always fun to meet the princesses!

The last time we were here Suzette picked out Cora's Belle dress (since she's her mother, I guess it was ok..!) But this year it was my turn! And the best part- Cora takes after her aunty with Ariel being her favorite Disney Princess! As soon as she saw her Ariel dress she started stripping down, and was so ready to transform into a Princess!

The dress just happened to also match Suzette's hair, haha.

And, as always, I was sure to take tons of pictures of my Cora's Princess Debut (again)!

Every time we celebrate at Disneyland, I get super excited. I hope this can stay a tradition of ours! And it's funny because my dad is always saying that Suzette and I seem more excited to meet the princesses than Cora does... And, honestly, I wouldn't deny that, haha... I truly just love being able to share my passion for Disney with my Cora! She loves the Wonderful World of Disney almost as much as I do!

And continuing with the Disney Theme! This was the cute little cake my mom got Cora for her actual birthday! Although we have parties on a different day, it's always nice to have a little sweet something in honor of our day of birth!

Cora really is lucky, like me, and gets to celebrate her birthday several times over. Since my birthday is during the holidays, I usually get multiple celebrations, too, just so I can feel extra special, haha. (^-^)

For the San Antonio birthday party, Suzette and Billy wanted to celebrate in their new home! Since they had just moved into their duplex a couple months earlier, it was also their first party- what a nice way to break it in!

It was lots of fun, as always, and pretty laid back. Friends and other little ones were invited to come enjoy our home-made sweets and all the water games! I helped make a couple of our little snacks- there were so many, I wish I could put all the pictures on here! And not only were they super easy to make and really yummy, they were healthy too! These little clams were mine and everyone's favorite! They went out within the first hour!

As a person who's not into big parties and such, I always love little celebrations like these. You can relax in your natural environment and enjoy the company of your friends and family. The Harkiewiczes were able to come too! I made sure to invite them- firstly because Sarah and Cora share the same birthday (7/11)! And secondly, since little Stevie is around the same age as Cora. I really hope they enjoyed the party, because I certainly loved having them and I really hope they'll be at our future parties! I can't wait to watch Cora and Stevie grow up!! <3 <3

Pooh's Corner: DCP Application Process...

2nd Video of my Disney College Program Vlog Series: Pooh's Corner! In this video I go through the application process for joining the program, as well as address the reason behind the Vlog's Title. Here's the one thing that I forgot to put in the video about the process: It's very important to sign up EARLY! You have to remember that thousands of students are also applying all over the country and spots fill up fast! As soon as the application opens, sign up as soon as you can!
One other thing that I took out was me talking about the filming process of these videos. Basically, for the time being, I will be using my computer until I can get a proper vlogging camera, so please bear with me! And who knows, maybe I'll actually record one of these videos with natural lighting at a decent hour when I don't have to try and be quiet??

Attack On Titan Addicted... #tbt

Just as the title says: I've become Attack On Titan Addicted...!
It all started one summer day when my brother and I were looking for a show to watch together. We kept scanning through the various titles available on Netflix and when we passed by this show, "Attack On Titan," I figured why not?? I had heard a lot of great things about the show in the past year and had been told several times over that I NEEDED to watch it. 20minutes later, as the credits began to roll, I sat in awe. I looked over at my brother who was in control of the remote and said, "NEXT EPISODE!" and that was it.
I completed the whole 1st season in just two days. Poor Nicky (my brother) wanted to watch something else but I just kept saying, "NEXT EPISODE" over and over. Around 1AM when he disappeared off to his bedroom, I remained behind to keep watching. I was so annoyed when I had to "spend time with the family" because I just wanted to watch my show! (haha) After the 1st Season was over I was ready for the next one, too bad there wasn't one..! I searched and searched all over the internet only to be disappointed. There was only the 1st season and season 2 wouldn't be put into production for another couple years! WHAT THE HELL!? I couldn't stand it. That night I watched all of the OVAs and even downloaded a Manga App for my phone JUST so that I could have more Shingeki no Kyojin in my life!
To this day I've seen the whole 1st season 5times over. After I finished it by myself I completed it with Nicky, then again with my sister, Suzette, back-to-back. After a couple months I couldn't stand the lack of Attack On Titan in my life, so I rewatched it... again.... And only a couple months ago I introduced the show to one of my best friends, Kim. I've watched the first episode several times over, whilst introducing the series to others, and I've read the manga from beginning to end twice over, as well as all the spin-offs. I'm completely caught up, even, and I can't stand it!! Plainly put: I'm just a little, kinda, obsessed with Attack On Titan.... (>____<)
Don't ask me why, it's just such a damn good show! It's one of those psychological, action-packed, horror, thrillers that really makes you think. In the beginning it's all about the blood, the gore, the Titans. The farther along you get in the series you really start to wonder: "What are these 'Titans'?" and "Where did they come from??" And it's those questions and your own curiosity that fuel your need for more! The series continues to feed you more unanswered questions and you drive yourself crazy trying to find the answers. Another major aspect about the show that I absolutely LOVE is the fact that no character is safe. It's very much like Game Of Thrones where you may grow attached to a character for several episodes and then suddenly- bam- they're dead. And although it's heartbreaking, it drives the story on so well and I can never get enough! And don't even get me started on those fucking amazing 3-D Maneuvering Gear!!
I'd rather not sit here and give a synopsis/ review of the show, because I'm sure to spoil it. It's just one of those things you just have to see it for yourself! Just take my word for it, I've watched a lot of shows, like a LOT, of all types and genres and this one has jumped into my top favorites so fast, it's quite ridiculous. I know it took a good year for me to finally watch it (I hate getting into things when the hype is so high- what a hipster thing to say, haha), but now I see why it's so popular!
All-in-all, I fucking love, love, LOVE this show. I've been thinking about it a lot more recently, and I've realized that I have yet to rewatch it in English Dub. I'll most likely do that soon...! If you haven't seen this show, and you love crazy awesome shows with action, blood, and a fucking wicked story plot- WATCH IT. Whether it's in English as Attack On Titan, or in Japanese as Shingeki no Kyojin, it's an amazing show and I absolutely can not wait for more!!

P.S. my favorite characters are totally Levi and Armin... and maybe Eren and Sasha... Just saying... <3

Throwback Thursday...

I realized that I have a lot of incomplete posts from last summer, many that I would love to complete! SO, I decided to go ahead and complete and post them on Thursdays as a sort of Throwback! That way I can still post the stories as well as keep myself disciplined in making sure I am posting AT LEAST once a week! (^-^)
And for a quick update, since I haven't posted much recently: I've been super busy and will soon have plenty to post about! On top of Graduation and Disney College (vlog being renamed to Pooh's Corner), my Movement II class has been AMAZING! We had field trips to the circus and to a pole dancing class, and so much more! My sister is having her baby THIS weekend, &&& I no longer work at Subway! So, ya, plenty to post and catch-up on, so stay tuned! (^-^)

Dreams Come True...

I finally got to upload the first video for my Disney College Program Vlog! The recording is a  bit shaky, the lighting sucks, and I'm completely scattered-brained throughout most of it- but I had fun making it! I recorded this on March 18th, and it only got uploaded on April 9th... How sad... But now that I have a computer to use I'll be sure to create more of my DCP Vlog Series: Dreams Come True! I'll also be sure to figure out how I can make it better... (-u-) I'm looking into cameras that would be better for Vlogging, but it may be a while till I can purchase one. For now, though, here is my first video!

The Final Stretch...

Surprise, surprise- I haven't posted anything in MONTHS even though I said that I would... Well, here we are again, and in a different year. But most importantly, in the final months of my Senior Year at The University of North Texas!
Everyone keeps asking whether I'm excited or not- of course I am! I'm excited to finally be DONE with school! After 16years of constant schooling I am so ready to move onto the next chapter of my life! Sure, I may be scared to "grow up" and have to start doing "adult" things like paying more bills and finding a way to live on my own- but I am SO ready for something else in my life! It's been a bit difficult this past year, though, mainly because my heart just hasn't been into it. I never want to go to classes (unless they're my Theatre classes) and I hate having to do my homework. Plus I'm having to juggle all my classes (18hours) and work && labs- it's a whole lot of work & I am exhausted! There's also the added bonus of having easy access to constant distractions (Social Media & Netflix) and my distractions almost always win the battle...! (-u-)
Anyways, yes, I am excited to graduate! But what I'm even more excited for is what's happening after I graduate: DISNEY COLLEGE! After all these years of hoping & dreaming of the opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program, I made it in!!! My current roommate, Kassie, also made it- so not only will I be living the dream working at Disney World, I'll be able to experience all of the magic & wonder with one of my best friends!! The program is actually one of the main reasons why I'm back to blogging. Throughout the program I'm wanting to Vlog, so naturally having a blog going alongside the postings would be relevant. I'm not too sure how it's going to work (mainly since I've never Vlogged before) but I'll figure it out! I can't wait to get started- I actually already have the 1st video ready for my to edit & post in the upcoming week! So, here's the beginning of my Disney Vlog Journey, and the continuation of this whole "Blogging Thing" <3

1st World Problems

Although it's awful to think of how true that hashtag is, it's also hilariously sad, and literally my life these past few months.... (-.\)
I had originally planned (as always) to keep up with my blogging once summer was over. I even had specific topics ready for me to post about; however, it just so happened that my life become chock-full of "1st World Problems."
A lot of the problems, even though they seem ridiculously childish on the surface, turned out to just create stress all over my life. The first problem that arose: Financial Aid. Yes, my mother completed everything only 2weeks before school starting, BUT I should have it by now! So why don't I?? Because the government, and whoever runs the Federal Financial Aid Department, decided that they just had to select me out of the thousands of students at my school to go through an extra "verification process!" Apparently, it's a process that 1/3 students are selected for, and I just happened to be the lucky winner! So, basically, I get to wait double the amount of time to recieve absolutely any financial aid from my school. But, don't worry, American Government, I totally don't mind having Zero Dollars to my name every single day, living paycheck to paycheck, asking family members to borrow thousands of dollars to pay off school, begging my apartment complex for extensions, or even having to donate plasma twice a-week just so I can buy toilet paper and cat food. Nope. Absolutely no problem... I'm just fortunate enough to work at Subway- at least I know what I'll be having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday! #1stWorldProblems
The next biggest issue that came to be since school started was my apartment having NO INTERNET. You never realize how much you love something till it's gone, and that is definitely what happened after I moved into my apartment! Inorder to get internet, we had to purchase an ethernet cable and connect directly to the wall (which is really dumb given technology these days, honestly!) and, obviously, I didn't have the money to do so! After my 1st paycheck- I got one! Too bad my poor Macbook, being as old as it is, absolutely refused to connect! I was so depressed! The only times I could use the internet was when I was either at work or on-campus and once I was on, I was glued to my phone. It's sad, but I'm actually not super surprised with how badly addicted I am to the internet. Actually, it's more that I'm addicted to Social Media and NETFLIX, to be honest. And so, this problem was not remedied until I had been moved in for a month and a half when I found a Wi-Fi Reciever for cheap! Apparently, my computer only likes to connect to Wi-Fi Internet, so now I can be connected to the world!! Ok, it sounds ridiculous, but it wasn't just that I couldn't Tweet for a little over a month, because I had no internet, I also couldn't do my homework or check my emails! In today's society, where schools and teachers are all about technology and online communications, a student must be able to have internet access at all times! It's sad, but true! During this time when I had no connection to the internet world, I would stay after at work till 3-4AM just doing internet, and STILL have to get up for classes in the morning... It really sucked... #1stWorldProblems
Now add all that up along with work almost everyday &&& 19credit hours at school- you can see why I've been a bit out of touch and extremely stressed out! Since returning to Denton, life has been extremely difficult, which really sucks since it's my Senior Year... But thankfully, things are slowly starting to get better. Since these are all 1st World Problems, I know that I can get through this, and that's what keeps me going. As long as I keep smiling and doing my best, all the pieces will fall into place... eventually! (^-^) #JustKeepSwimming

Find What You Love...

A couple weekends ago was San Japan. I had a great time hanging with my friends and getting to see a bunch of new guests, but I also had a lot of time to think. Firstly, one of the guests was Team FourStar, the creators of Dragonball Z Abridged, and so many other parodies. I'm not gonna lie: before they joined the guest list for San Japan, I had no idea who they were. I knew that DBZ Abridged existed, I just never actually watched their stuff (no offense); however, they made for great brains for me to pick. A number of the Team FourStar group began their Voice Acting careers online auditioning in forums and putting their voices to a number of fandubs. And look at them now!
Another guest, and personal favorite to make conversations with, was Chris Ayres. I always enjoy his panels and listening to him talk, and I always take away some fantastic new advice, this year especially. He told the panel something that I have been contemplating ever since: "Find what you love and figure out how to make money with it." Haha, I just knew that it was perfect.
So, what are just some things that I love? Acting, Anime, Reading, Drawing, Television, Singing, Disney, Photography, Japanese Culture, Travel, and so much more! The next task for me was to find a way to put it all together. Obviously, if I wanted to make money with acting, I would have to (uh-doi) start auditioning! I have to work on myself and try stepping out of the box, become better at auditioning and stop being so judgmental about myself and my abilities! Of course, Acting would definitely work well with the world of Television and Anime; after all, I became a Theatre Major so that I could Voice Act, right?? Basically, everything that I love can work together, and if I was able to spend the rest of my life doing all of those things, I could die the happiest person on Earth.
Everything really came into perspective just the other day when I was editing an "About Me" section on my FUNimation Profile. I was trying to figure out just how could I sum up, me?? After a lot of thinking, here's what I came up with:

Senior in College, Majoring in Theatre with a Minor in Japanese.
Current Shows: Detective Conan, Attack on Titan, Fairytail
Dreams for the Future: Graduate, Disney College, VA in a CLAMP series and a Ghibli Production, work with Emma Watson, publish my FanFiction, Poke'mon: Princess Debut, & travel the world!

And after I read that over a couple times I realized how perfect it was! Yes, this exactly sums up who I am and who I would like to become. The only thing I would like to add (because I totally just thought of it) would be: "Produce a Disney Cover Album." There, now it's perfect.
I've realized that my brain has tried jumping all over the place trying to figure out just what I want to do with my life, but honestly, this is it. Now that I'll be moving into an apartment, I'll be able to have my own space (finally). I want to start auditioning online again, getting my voice out there. I want to try to audition for as many things as I can around the DFW area. I want to take as many workshops and/or acting classes that are available to me. I want to become a stronger performer, and once that happens, everything will fall into place. I know it's going to be immensely difficult, especially with school and work, but I'll manage. Just like my mom tells me, "You always seem to say you'll do something, and no matter what, you find a way to make it happen." Well, now I've said it, so that means I have to go out there and make my dreams come true.

Find Your Why...

I really should never say that I'm actually going to keep up with this blog, because I honestly never do... When I was younger, I had so many diaries, too, but I never actually used them- I would always just forget. But I suppose a blog is just like anything you do in your life: if you want to stay consistent, you have know your "why."
Why do I want to blog? What even is the point?? Now, I know I've actually posted something about this before, and I'm not too sure whether my mind has changed much. One major reason definitely has to do with the fact that I'm a packrat- I love reminiscing about happy memories, finding nostalgic treasures in the back of my closet, and pictures and blog posts (at least to me) are basically the same thing. Sure, some of these posts are dumb slice-of-life bits and others are just my own personal ramblings, but so what??
Another reason, I suppose, would have to be my inner performer calling out for attention. Yes, I'm a Theatre Major- I want to become a big-time Voice Actor and, yes, I will admit, I would absolutely LOVE, love, loooove to be in a film! Ok, I've said it!! I'm much more shy than most people think, and sure I talk a lot, but I really do get nervous easily. These past few years, I have absolutely loved watching my fellow Theatre Majors stepping on-stage and into the spotlight, they always look so beautiful, radiant, and confident! I feel so happy for them because I wish I were them. I hear it all the time from my friends that they think that I, Lisette Monique Diaz, is so outspoken and confident, and so easy to talk to people, but really I'm not at all like that. But I want to be like that.
I've realized several time over these past few years that I want to be more confident with myself and my abilities, I want to be able to stand on stage, or in front of a mic without wanting to shy away from the crowd. I've gotten better, I know that, but I want to be more.
Maybe it's because I'm about to start my Senior Year in College and I'm getting immensely nervous about where I'm headed, or maybe it's just another summer revelation, who knows..? But what I do know is that I really have to dig deep and start working. I'm always telling people that if they want something bad enough, they have to put in the work for it- and I fully believe in that, but maybe it's time that I actually started to show it, too. I have so many dreams that I want to make real, so maybe it's about time I started making them happen.

Blessed be the Summer...

School is out and I have been on Summer Break for 2 weeks now.
I am immensely hoping that I will have a lot more free time this summer than I normally do, if that is the case, I will definitely have plenty of time to blog more than just once every couple months! (-u-)
School ended with a dull and definite flop. Near the end of the semester, I just couldn't wait till my finals were over. With the combination of school, work, Herbalife, and dealing with my roommate, I just needed a break! In order to relax during these past few weeks, I had spent most of my time sleeping and/or watching episode after episode of Poke'mon! I am honestly proud to say that as of last week I have officially watched every single English episode of the Poke'mon Anime!!! Don't I feel cool...??
It's already nearing the end of May, so I'm worried that this summer will pass much too quickly! My plans for the summer (besides working on myself and catching up on shows) is almost the same as always. On June 1st, I will be flying out to California for a month. At the end of June and beginning of July, my family from Dallas, as well as my sister (Suzette) and Coraline will be joining me in California for a short time! I'm really excited to have everyone there all at once! It'll most likely be crazy and hectic- but that just means there'll be a ton of fun ahead! After California, I'll be returning home to San Antonio for San Japan and to spend more time with my mom and other family. Luckily, I won't be having to head back up to Denton till August! And what's more exciting?? Come August I'll be moving into my own apartment! I am so ready for my own space- I can't wait!
And so, now I'll just go ahead and cross my fingers that I can enjoy every bit of this summer! Hope everyone out there is enjoying their break so far, as well! (^-^)

Obsessions...

Although I said that this semester was starting to look like my easiest yet, it seems to have become one of my most busiest!! I think it mainly stems from the fact that, not only am I going to school for 15hours plus a lab, but I am also working on developing my Herbalife self- as a person & business! &&& what am I doing during any down-time??? Not my homework. And definitely not sleeping, that's for sure! For the past few weeks, I have spent countless hours watching Youtube videos, several series, &&& watching a lot- a LOT- of Poke'mon.
More recently, I've subscribed to a ton of new Youtube channels, but hardly any of them am I actually up-to-date on their webisodes. So, I decided to start fixing that & began watching nothing but Youtube channels! The first channels that I always make sure I'm up-to-date on are Monster High, Eyeshine and Ariana Grande's personal channel. I am also caught up on several channels dedicated to JPop & KPop dance covers, sadly however, it's been months since they've posted any new videos. Also, Ozzy's videos- mainly because he's hilarious & fun, but also I'm proud that he's happy! I may not have known him very well while he attended school here at UNT, but when I did talk with Ozzy, he seemed awesome & sweet, and had great potential as a performer- who knew he would eventually become a Youtube Sensation??
Me as a Teen Vogue Intern
The channel that I just finally caught up with is Jenna Marbles, and yes, I'm kind of obsessed with her videos. She's just so funny!! And I love how she just doesn't give a fuck what people say about her, in fact, she embraces it, and that's awesome!
Along with Jenna Marbles videos, I've become a bit obsessed with Teen Vogue. I'm subscribed to their channel, I follow them on Twitter & Instagram, &&& I play the Teen Vogue: Me Girl app every day. It's pretty sad.
What else is sad is how many more channels I have become subscribed to since starting my Youtube Catch-Up Spree!! While watching videos, I'll see another video in the sidebar that looks or sounds intriguing, click on it, & 5seconds later I'm subscribed to them! I've found a ton of bloggers, fashion channels, make-up tutorials, dancers & singers, and so many more channels that I have added to the ever-growing list of subscriptions.... I think I need help... (-__-)
As for television shows, I firstly completed Season 2 of The Legend of Korra!! And, holy geeze, it was so freaking fantastic!!! I can't wait till Season 3 comes out, because things can only get better & crazier from here on out!! I have finally completely caught up with The Walking Dead & am now watching Live, as well as The Talking Dead, on AMC every Sunday! I've fallen off of the Pretty Little Liars & Glee bandwagon these past few weeks, so I'll have to get to work on that!
A show that I have NOT neglected is Poke'mon. During Winter Break, I decided to try and catch myself up to the current season in Kalos, but I had to have watched every single episode! And not only the episodes, I followed the Poke'mon timeline closely and made sure to insert the Poke'mon movies whenever they came up. As of last night, I am through Season 12, Poke'mon: Galactic Battles. Now that's a lot of Poke'mon!!
Spring Break is just starting up, so I'm really hoping I'll get some time to relax, but since I'm home with family, I doubt it. SO- Till Next Time- Stay Tuned!

The Game is Called 21...

I figured, "Maybe it'd be best to keep things in a chronological order?" So, let's start things off with my BIRTHDAY!!!
Rainbow Birthday Roses
On December 30th, I turned 21! Yep, that's right world, I am officially LEGAL. But it doesn't matter much, since I don't even like to drink, but that didn't stop my friends and family from showering me with drinks.
Anyone who knows me know I don't like large parties, so for my birthday when I was asked what I wanted to do I responded with: "Stay home." Ha. They didn't let that one slide. So, on my birthday, I got dressed up as an Ariel Fangirl (because I'm really 12, not 21) and my sister, Suzette took me around the mall. I loved it! Since Suzette and her fiancé, Billy, both work at the mall I got the princess treatment all day! My Free drink from Starbucks, my Free gift from Sephora, a Free Tea, a Free Spider-Man iPhone case (which was actually given early), and a Free pair of Bluetooth headphones! Besides all the STUFF, everyone was super awesome and wishing me happy birthday all day! Then my sisters and mom treated me to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory- one of my favorites. It was there that Billy bought me my 1ST LEGAL DRINK: a Hard Strawberry Lemonade. It was actually pleasantly delicious. When the crew brought out my birthday cheesecake, they alas gave me a shot, some Rum & Vodka concoction. That one wasn't that good.

Happy Birthday, Me!
After the mall, we returned home where I got to just hang out. The whole family stopped by and we got to play some games, then my friends picked me up and I got to have my 1st Hookah Experience! I kind of have mixed feelings about Hookah. It smelled decent, didn't taste too good, and although it was really relaxing, after a while, you get a head-ache. Besides that, I got Bubble Tea and quality-time with some of my best friends- so I loved it.

21st Birthday Princess Selfie
The next day, New Years Eve, was spent traveling around with my mom. I visited patients with her, then we got all of the party supplies and food supplies for the night's New Year/ Birthday Party. This was the 1st year that I can remember where it was JUST the family at our house. Usually "family friends" or "distant relatives" somehow find their way into our party, but this year it was just us. Throughout the night I kept getting handed drinks, too. At one point I was having to juggle three at-a-time; Billy, Uncle, and my mom just kept mixing them up for me. Billy's goal, apparently, was to get me drunk; however, little did he know, that I kept hiding my drinks so he wouldn't notice that I wasn't drinking them. So, all-in-all, that night I had a ton of Vodka, Rum, Soda, combinations of all sorts, as well as a very yummylicious Pina Colada! The Pina Colada was my favorite: at the end of the night, I had stolen the blender she used to make it & was drinking it with a straw. (I had to make room in the fridge, honest!)
New Years Drinks
We ended the night with an intense game of Phase 10 and everyone was shocked that after all those drinks, I was still full functional. Guess I'm a much stronger drinker than I look! Well, I say that... The next morning, my brain woke me up around 5AM. I walked to the bathroom, totally normal, then all of a sudden I started throwing up basically everything. Haha- it wasn't bad, or anything. I was actually surprised because I wasn't hurting or anything (that night or the next morning) and after a couple minutes in the bathroom, I was totally fine and just went back to sleep like nothing had happened!
So, there's my apparent "1st Drunken Experience"??? Well, I hope someday I get a more exciting one... Besides that, my friends and family kept treating me as the week went on. On the 1st, I got to go out with another couple of friends who treated me drinks after we went to see Anchorman 2. Together we sat at a pub and had a couple of Star Fuckers and Lifesavers- those ones were actually quite delicious.
At the Pub
The next week I spent in California with my dad, which was a nice little break from everything while at the same time horrible! It was horrible because every time we went out to eat, Dad refused to let me get a normal drink- I HAD to get some kind of alcoholic beverage! Now, for most people, this would be their dream- but I hate alcohol and all I wanted was a fucking lemonade and no one was letting me have it!! It was so bad...
And there you have it! For my birthday I had a ton of relaxing fun and a whole lot of first time experiences, especially in the alcoholic beverage tasting area... I may not be big into drinking, like at all, but it's pretty cool that I'm 21 now. Now, if I wanted to buy alcohol just because I wanted to, I COULD, and possessing that power is an awesome feeling!

School, school, school...

Fret not, Blogger, I haven't forgotten about you!
Friday is Valentine's Day, meaning it's been nearly 2weeks since my last post- oh no! Haha, I've become immensely busy with a combination of school, building my Herbalife business, working on my Level 10 Results, Personal Development, and just more and more school. It's just been crazy!
First off, like I said: this Friday is Valentine's Day!! I love this holiday because I always get sweets from my friends & family, so I'm actually pretty excited! No, I don't have a Valentine, and I honestly have never cared, or even, worried about being with a significant other on this holiday! I always think it's funny when girls get depressed over being single around this time- like, who really cares?? I don't know about everyone else, but it's just another Friday to me, which means I have school & Fit Camp- The End.
And speaking of Valentine's Day... at the end of the last post I mentioned about my having my 1st ever date? Ya, well, although I actually plan on posting more about that- update- nothing happened. Lisette is still single, and THANK GOD. I don't know if I'm just "not ready" to be in a relationship, or whatever, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I just DON'T HAVE THE TIME. Anyhoos, I'll be posting more about that later, but for now John and I are just friends; or rather, he just Facebook stalks me while I ignore him. But it's not like I want to be rude or anything, I ignore most people just because I am so BUSY, so it's actually the same for everyone!
Now to the core of this Post: School. So, I've been in classes for a month now, and so far it seems to be one of my easiest semesters! I am taking 1 Theatre Class (Theatre History), Advanced Japanese, American Government, History, and Stars and Universe. The hardest class, like always, is Japanese. Most time-consuming class, along with Japanese, is definitely Astronomy, but that's just because it has a lab component- but I love Astronomy, so it's not bad. Besides that, the other classes are super easy because all of the assignments are Online- my favorite! Haha, so I love them because I get do my work whenever I feel like it! I'm crossing my fingers this semester that I'll be able to possibly get straight A's??? I mean, it would be really nice.
Last semester, during the meeting with my Theatre Advisor, I came to the shocking realization that I'm almost done with college!! I can't get that out of my mind. In a year from now, I'll be in the middle of my LAST semester- boy does time fly! Well, thanks to that realization, I've had to start seriously thinking about what I want to do after college, and I'm still not totally sure... I absolutely want to attend Disney College, though. That's the plan: Graduate College Spring 2015 and then do Disney College Fall 2015, but that's as far as I've gotten... It's so difficult to decide what I want to do! Besides my Herbalife, I don't know. Do I want to stay in Texas??? Do I want to try my luck in CALIFORNIA??? What about JAPAN? I just don't know. I have so many options sitting in front of me and I don't know which to pick. Thankfully, I still have at least SOME time to decide...
That's it for this post. I may have more free time this week/weekend to put up more posts, not to mention I have so much to talk about! I mean, a LOT- from my birthday, to youtube channels, my Herbalife biz, FROZEN, and especially my shows! SO- Stay Tuned!
PS- Since I haven't posted any pictures in a while, here's one of me & my Pooh. ((teehee))

Update...

Well, it's nearly the end of January and the last actual post I made was, what, around Halloween time?? Wow, it's been a while. I guess a quick update is in order??
First off- I actually DID complete my 31days of Halloween Horror Movie Challenge, I just never found the time to complete my posts! Who knows? Maybe I'll finish them sometime... The last major series I watched was the Ju-On & Grudge movies, which, by the way, were absolutely TERRIFYING! And then I completed the challenge by watching other movies like, Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas! On actual Halloween Day I dressed up, as Pooh Bear of course, went to class, hung out with friends, then returned to my room where I took a a fantastic 5hour nap!
Throughout the month of November I mostly killed myself by working my Herbalife products, working the business a bit, jumping through hoops to find a ride home, and getting ready for finals. It was a very, VERY hectic month, but everything worked out. As for my Herbalife (which will have a more in-depth post very soon), I haven't jumped levels to Supervisor yet, buuuuut, I've had amazing results! In less than 2months, I lost nearly 15lbs &&&& over 30inches off my entire body!!! I couldn't believe it!! Actually, I didn't believe it until I saw a before & after picture of myself! It's so crazy how amazing I feel everyday & after seeing these major results, I plan to kill it before Spring Break hits!!
Finally, we had reached the end of the year and everything was happening all at once! Finals came and went, and I did fine. I was immensely overly-stressed with life, so I honestly went into every exam with a "FUUUUUUUU-" attitude. (Totally serious, by the way). Then I returned home, where stress-levels continued to be stretched to the limit! Let's see, I got home on the 17th, and my Grandparents arrived on the 21st. Translation, everyday leading up to the 21st was spent cleaning the house and attempting to keep the peace within the household. Don't get me wrong- I absolutely love my family, and I would never trade any of them, but family is family, and that's all I have to say on the matter... And so the holidays were among us: I spent most of my time split into spending time with Grandma (she refused to leave the house, ever), running errands with Grandpa (he always wanted company for trips to the store, yay, me...), playing games with Nicky (he ended up grounding himself just before the holiday break due to grades, so this was a bit difficult), babysitting every now-and-then, and finally getting to see all of my best friends. I also spent everyday doing my best to "eat clean & healthy," but failed epically. Christmas was a ton of fun, and so was New Years, but the best was my birthday! This year (last year) I turned 21, a very special number. For more than a week all I was basically allowed to drink was alcoholic beverages! It was horrible!! Haha, but I had a great time with everyone. I'll have to make a more detailed post about my birthday later.
Before we knew it, it was the new year! On the 1st, I hung out with friends, and on the 2nd I was on a plane to California! Honestly, my days in California are usually my most relaxing of any holiday, mainly because I'm usually just lazying about in my pajamas all day, playing video games, or just hanging out with my dad! They hardly ever make me actually DO anything, which makes for a great break for me since I am always on-the-go! The night I landed I was surprised with my new car: a cute bright blue Nissan Versa Note! She's a 2014 & her name's Ariel (teehee). I love her, and it is so great to have a car again! Now I'm not just stuck! Anyway, I worked a couple days with Jenny, and about a week later, Dad & I were road tripping back to Texas! We drove Ariel from Chino, California to El Paso in one day; the next morning we stopped into Odessa to visit our newest family member, Emma, who was barely a week old; and then made our way home to San Antonio! We had one day of break, then early (like, 4AM early) we were on the road again. I dropped Dad off at the Austin airport, and made the rest of the return trip to Denton alone. It was strange because there was no traffic and the sun had risen and I was already at the school. So, let's just say, Ariel got herself a good workout!
And here we are, a week ago school started and I decided to jump headfirst into Fit Camps (bad idea). I'm helping with at NTXNutrition now and with Fit Camps every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I'm only taking 15hours this semester, but Crackin' Up meetings should be starting soon, so that'll be taking up time, along with my Herbalife. Besides all of this, some very interesting events have arisen... Hint, hint: I will be kinda going on my first ever "date" tomorrow afternoon...! (O_O)
I don't know what I'm exactly supposed to be feeling about everything right now, but I guess I'll have more to post about tomorrow???? Till then!

Sincerely Yours,
Lisette Monique Diaz

Blog Title...

As mentioned the last time I redid my blog, I feel like anytime I tweak it, I stick to blogging for some time; however, the name I changed it to in itself makes me want to keep up with my posts.
Allow me to explain: when I first came to blog, it was just another thing I decided to try, like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr- you know, just another social media of sorts. The next time, when I redid my whole blog, I changed its name: "And on Towards the Sky." This saying comes from one of my absolute favorite shows, Kaleido Star, as I explained when I redid the page. (I even did a whole couple posts about the show). The second time I redid my blog, I kept the name, changed the layout & began to treat it like a diary, except, like every diary I've ever owned, I hardly ever wrote in it. THIS TIME: I tweaked the page &&& changed the title: "No Day But Today." I've really wanted to change the title for a while, hence the few months of it being "Sweet Dreams," but I could never think of a perfect blog title- a title that was very ME. I kept thinking about some of my favorite words & things: Dreams, Disney, Otaku, Anime, Daydreamer, etc... I just couldn't get it! Last night, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I was spending time with my cousins in Dallas. We were watching RENT, a wonderful & beautiful musical, I hadn't seen it before (even though I actually OWN it), but I loved it! Or rather, I loved what I saw, seeing as how I fell asleep halfway through it (- -;).  But I woke up the last 30 or so minutes, just as they kicked off, "No Day But Today," and suddenly, it clicked! That was my new blog title!!
I realized that I've always been the type of person to rush into things, that I'm always, ALWAYS, thinking forward towards my future, which is great, but not always the best game-plan. All last year I had to keep telling myself that I had to learn to live for every day & for every moment. I doubt I will ever be able to completely change myself, being the forward thinker I am, but if I only keep my eyes facing one direction, I'll just continue to miss so much. And so, this year, I plan to actually LIVE. I don't want to forget anything. I want to be able to have moments everyday: the good, the bad, and the great; I want them all. I'm only 21, but after living through family members with Dementia and Alzheimer's, at the same time having so many babies joining the family, as well as realizing just how close I am to graduating college!! I plan to live for No Day But Today, and by doing so, I'll have so many moments I won't be able to keep up with my posts! But, I'll give it a try! (^-^)
Well, I guess I'm doing good so far- 2posts within a week's time, yay! I plan to keep the Diary/Letter format, since that's what I'm most familiar with (teehee). I don't know exactly WHO I'm "writing" to, since I have like ?4? followers- maybe just to a future me?? Anywhoos, till next time!

Sincerely Yours,
Lisette Monique Diaz

A Whole New Year...

It's been far too long since I last posted anything! I don't know if it's because my life has been just one giant rollercoaster, or because the blend having the end of the semester and the holidays was just too confusing (although I'm pretty sure it's just a mixture of both), but it's a whole new year and I plan to keep up as best I can on posting this time around!! Then again, I'm pretty sure I say that at the start of every year, but I promise to do it this time!! Well, hopefully...
Honestly, though, it's been a pretty crazy holiday season & I actually have a lot to talk about! For example, I finally got a brand new car! Also, I got to see all of my family and friends, which hardly ever happens; &&& I turned 21!!! So, with all of these topics, plus all the shows & movies I've been watching, and school starting up again, I should have plenty of posts coming up in the next few days!

Sincerely Yours,
Lisette Monique Diaz

Halloween Challenge...~*The Continuation*~...

~*SPOILER ALERT*~

Continuing my October Halloween Horror Film Challenge
 with more classic movies!

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers~
The Halloween series continues with a whole new story, and some new, yet old, faces! A Brief movie Synopsis: Six years after the events of Halloween 5, Michael is alive. It seems that the stranger dressed in black that was seen throughout the entire previous film rescued him, kidnapped Jamie, and has kept them hidden away for all these years. Jamie, now 15years old, opens the film as she attempts to escape from her prison with her son who she had just given birth to just hours before. She is being pursued by her uncle, Michael, as she makes her way into a deserted bus station where she hides the baby before fleeing to an empty barn house. Meanwhile, Dr. Loomis, now retired and writing a book, overhears Jamie's plea for help when she calls into a local radio station. After DJ Barry Simms ignores her call, Jamie hangs up and leaves the bus station, only to be followed and murdered in the barn house by Michael. Back in Haddonfield, Tommy Doyle, the boy Laurie Strode babysat in the first film, now lives in a boarding house across the street from the Myers house. Relatives of the Strode family have just moved into the Michael's old home without any prior knowledge as to its history. After hearing Jamie on the radio the night before, Tommy finds her baby at the bus station. As he attempts to find the baby help at the hospital, he runs into Dr. Loomis and tells him that the Strodes have moved into the Myers house- they both believe that Michael is back in Haddonfield. Dr. Loomis visits Mrs. Debra Strode and reveals to her whose house she is now living in. Before Debra is able to pack and leave the house, Michael returns home. When Debra's daughter, Kara, gets home, she finds her son, Danny, in his room with Tommy. Tommy warns them of the danger they're in and brings them across the street to his home. There, he tells Karen all that he's discovered about Michael Myers, the murders, the house, and that he believes Michael is under the curse of Thorn by the Druid cult. Thorn is an ancient Druid symbol that represented a demon that spread sickness and caused destruction (the same symbol that he found written in blood on the baby earlier). To prevent this, a child from each tribe was chosen to inherit the curse of Thron to offer a blood sacrifice to its next of kin on the night of Samhain, Halloween. The curse explains why Michael is out to kill his family and his superhuman abilities. Tommy believes that the baby, Steven, will be Michael's final sacrifice. While Tommy goes to meet Dr. Loomis, he leaves baby Steven in Kara's care. Kara learns from the Mrs. Blankenship, the owner of the boarding house, that she was babysitting Michael Myers the night that he killed his sister and the Danny hears the same voice Michael heard that night. During the night, Kara's brother and his girlfriend, Tim and Beth, are killed by Michael. After witnessing their murders across the street, Kara follows chases after Danny who has just entered the Myers house. Kara struggles with Michael to protect Danny, but is able to escape with Tommy's house. Just when they believe that they're safe, the man in black is found in Mrs. Blankenship's house and is revealed to be Dr. Wynn, a friend and colleague of Dr. Loomis. Kara and Danny are abducted while Tommy and Dr. Loomis are drugged and left behind to follow them to Smith's Grove. Once inside, Dr. Loomis confronts Dr. Wynn who has credited himself for bringing about the new cycle of evil in Jamie's baby. Tommy, meanwhile, rescues Kara and together they watch in horror as Michael slaughters a whole team of doctors, including Wynn. After retrieving the children, Tommy and Kara search desperately for an exit with Michael in pursuit. They hide themselves inside a lab where Kara notices tanks containing human fetuses with a chart of runes and scientific letter codes; both connected together by the Thorn symbol. Michael breaks into the room where Tommy injects him with tranquilizers and continues to beat him into unconsciousness with a lead pipe. The group find their way out of the lab where Dr. Loomis tells them to leave without him. The film ends with Michael's mask lying on the floor and the screams of Dr. Loomis as the screen goes black. I've become accustomed to the back-and-forth pull of these movies: Michael "dies," and returns to kill more innocent victims in the next film, and the cycle continues over and over. However, this movie decided to take a little twist! The creators decided to make sense of Michael's killings and superhuman strength: a cult curse! Of course, I should have seen that... Although the filmmakers did a fantastic job in the all-around, I personally don't think that the supernatural and these slasher films ought to be mixed up... Can't we just keep it to the original idea of "Michael Myers has snapped, turned mentally insane, and just wants to kill everyone"??? I do like how Michael has become so clever in his means of killing people in the past few films, and this one did not disappoint! Still, my favorite part was seeing an old character like Tommy make a return more than 15years later! The worst part?

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later~
We take an interesting journey through time with this film as the sibling rivalry intensifies! A Brief Movie Synopsis: This film takes place 20years after the events of the original Halloween movie. We open on Marion Chambers, friend and colleague of Dr. Loomis, as she returns home to find that it has been broken into. She recruits the help of a neighborhood boy to do a quick walkthrough before entering herself. After just a few moments inside, she realizes that she is not alone Marion crosses the yard into the boys' house where she finds their bodies and soon becomes another Michael Myers victim. The police arrive just as Michael leaves the house with a file on Laurie Strode and her whereabouts. Two days later on Halloween, Laurie awakens from her nightly haunting of her brother. Since that night, Laurie has faked her own death, relocated, and assumed the alias "Keri Tate". She is now the headmistress of a private boarding school where her son, John, attends. Because of her constant fear of Michael's return, Laurie is overbearing and immensely protective of her son, especially on Halloween night; this causes for the two to constantly be butting heads. After an intense mother-son battle, Laurie gives her son permission to leave with the rest of the students for a weekend camping trip; however, John remains behind to celebrate with his girlfriend, Molly, his best friend, Charlie, and Charlie's girlfriend, Sarah. Without knowing that Michael is stalking the school grounds and that John has stayed behind, she makes plans to spend a romantic night with her boyfriend, Will. That night, the kids sneak out to the kitchens. Michael gruesomely murders Charlie and Sarah and pursue John and Molly back to the main campus. Meanwhile, Laurie has revealed her true identity to Will just as she discovers a gift left to her by Michael. Laurie searches John's room and realizes that he never packed for the weekend; she and Will leave to find the students. John and Molly narrowly escape Michael's grasp when Laurie opens the locked door, permitting them entry into the building- Laurie and Michael come face-to-face for the first time since their last encounter 20years ago. With John injured, Laurie hides the kids in a room while she and Will pursue Michael. After mistaking Ronny, the school's security guard, as Michael and shooting him down, Will is killed by Michael. Laurie grabs the kids and helps them escape off the school grounds. She returns with a fire axe, set on killing her brother. After several intense moments of struggle, Laurie stabs Michael in the chest multiple times and he topples over a balcony. Laurie goes to his body, raises her axe and is ready to deliver a final blow, but Ronny stops her. The police arrive and load Michael's body into a body bag. Laurie, unwilling to believe that Michael is really dead, grabs her axe and an officer's pistol and steals the van. While she is driving, Michael lets himself out of the body bag. Laurie slams on the breaks, throwing him through the windshield and follows-up by trying to run him over. The van tumbles down a cliff. Laurie survives the crash. As she looks at the wreckage, she sees that Michael has been pinned in-between the van and a tree. Laurie approaches him with her axe as Michael reaches out for her hand. At first Laurie seems to accept his compassion for forgiveness, but then she pulls down the axe and with one swing, decapitates Michael. His head rolls down the hill. Laurie watches in relief knowing that Michael is finally dead. First of all, thank you for someone finally deciding to chop his head off! It was great to finally see Laurie's character being badass and taking no prisoners! She knew full-well that Michael wasn't dead, so she took matters into her own hands! The only part that really confused me was the timeline: If it's been 20years since the first film, that would mean that Laurie Strode gave birth to Jamie Lloyd about 10years ago, sparking the events of the 4th and 5th films, and eventually the 6th. And with that, first of all- why the hell did Laurie have her first child and then just abandon her??? Especially when she knows that her murderous brother may, or may not, try to kill her??? And secondly, the 6th film takes place 15years after the end of the 5th film, placing its timeline at 25years following the events of the original Halloween movie... Uhmmm... Didn't Laurie just chop his head off?? I mean, sure, there is still an 8th film to watch, but still. Even if he is cursed, how did Michael come back?? Maybe I'll just have to find the final film to understand it all?? Or maybe it's just a timeline error the change in writers overlooked?? Anyways, again, fantastic job on the all-around on this film! I absolutely loved the death scenes of Charlie and Sarah, hers even made me cringe. My least favorite part, however, was watching little Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character die so soon! Poor baby! (>.<)

>>From this point on I'm totally just taking the Synopsis' from Wikipedia kuz I'm lazy (-u-) <<
The Exorcist~
Started on my next major series! Another major classic I just don't remember, SO, here we go: In Northern Iraq during an archeological dig, archeologist and priest Father Lankester Merrin discovers a small amulet, and after studying it discovers it resembles a statue of Pazuzu, a monstrous demon in the form of a man, falcon, serpent and lion. Merrin suspects Pazuzu, whom he defeated many years ago, will return. In Georgetown, Washington D.C., actress Chris McNeil begins noticing strange and frightening behavioral changes in her daughter Regan such as constant swearing and abnormal strength. When medicine fails, Regan is given a few unpleasant tests, but X-rays results prove "negative" much to the confusion of the doctors. In reality, Regan is now possessed via a Ouija board by Pazuzu, who pretended to be her imaginary friend "Captain Howdy."
Burke Dennings, Chris's British director, dies mysteriously after falling from Regan's open bedroom window while Chris' secretary Sharon Spencer was out. His murder is investigated by detective William Kinderman, who questions both Chris and a young priest named Damien Karras (Jason Miller) who has lost faith in God after the death of his ill and elderly Greek mother, with only Chris suspecting Regan. After Regan assaults a psychiatrist, the doctors finally decide an exorcism may be Regan's only hope. Chris, however, is tentative as she and Regan have no religious beliefs.

Karras agrees to see Regan for Chris but refuses to perform an exorcism; however, further supernatural phenomena force him to accept Regan needs an exorcism. Karras is given permission by the bishop, who, at the request of the university's president, also hires Merrin to help, since he has prior experience with exorcisms.

Working together, Karras and Merrin attempt to exorcise Pazuzu from Regan, but the demon taunts them, especially Karras for his weak faith and guilt over his mother's death. Karras is dismissed after a break, as Merrin knows he is not mentally fit for a second attempt. Despite this, Karras returns to the room where Regan is now free from her binds and Merrin lies dead. In a fit of rage he assaults Regan and orders the demon to take him instead. Pazuzu obeys and Karras throws himself from the window. He then dies of his injuries, but not before receiving last rites from his friend Father Dyer.

Days later the McNeils leave for Los Angeles. They meet Dyer and say goodbye. Regan remembers nothing, but embraces him after noticing his white collar. After missing the duo, Kinderman decides to befriend Dyer by inviting him to see a movie with him.  All I remember about watching this previously was that I was already old enough to not be freaked out. Why/How?? Because my mom refused to let us watch any exorcist movies, fully believing that it would bring evil spirits into our house! So, my sisters & I snuck this into our house when she wasn't home & watched it! Haha. So, now that I'm about 10years older, I can really understand how this film became such an epic classic! Sure, it's not scary, but it is creepy! The make-up is fantastic, and the acting wasn't that bad. Also, for a film during this time period, the graphics were pretty good! I couldn't help but laugh sometimes (watching this in 2013), but overall, it's a good film. I guess it would be a little more scary, perhaps, if I was more religious & actually believed this could happen. I mean, you never know, right?? My only major complaint about this movie would be the amount of cursing and sexual references that were made! Like, who was the person that decided demons were just rude little whores??? Some of the things the demon said/did were immensely ridiculous &, personally I believe dumb & out-of-line. Also, this face is freaking scary, doesn't matter how brave you are!

Exorcist II: The Heretic~
Philip Lamont, a priest struggling with his faith, attempts to exorcise a possessed South American girl who claims to "heal the sick". Afterwards, Lamont is assigned by the Cardinal to investigate the death of Father Lankester Merrin, who had been killed four years prior in the course of exorcising the Assyrian demon Pazuzu from Regan MacNeil. The Cardinal informs Lamont (who has had some experience at exorcism, and has been exposed to Merrin's teachings) that Merrin is up on posthumous heresy charges due to his controversial writings. Apparently, Church authorities are trying to modernize and do not want to acknowledge that Satan as an actual evil entity exists. Regan, although now seemingly normal and staying with guardian Sharon Spencer in New York, continues to be monitored at a psychiatric institute by Dr. Gene Tuskin. Regan claims she remembers nothing about her plight in Washington D.C., but Tuskin believes her memories are only buried or repressed. Father Lamont visits the institute but his attempts to question Regan about the circumstances of Father Merrin's death are rebuffed by Dr. Tuskin, believing that Lamont's approach would do Regan more harm than good. In an attempt to plumb her memories of the exorcism, specifically the circumstances in which Merrin died, Dr. Tuskin hypnotizes the girl, to whom she is linked by a "synchronizer" — a biofeedback device used by two people to synchronize their brainwaves. After a guided tour by Sharon of the Georgetown house where the exorcism took place, Lamont returns to be coupled with Regan by synchronizer. The priest is spirited to the past by Pazuzu to observe Father Merrin exorcising a young boy, Kokumo, in Africa. Learning that the boy developed special powers to fight Pazuzu, who appears as a swarm of locusts, Lamont journeys to Africa, defying his superior, to seek help from the adult Kokumo. Lamont learns that Pazuzu attacks people who all have some form of psychic healing ability. Kokumo has since become a scientist, studying how to prevent grasshoppers from becoming locust swarms. Regan is able to reach telepathically inside the minds of others; she uses this to help an autistic girl to speak, for instance. Father Merrin belonged to a group of theologians who believed that psychic powers were a spiritual gift which would one day be shared by all humanity in a kind of global consciousness, and thought people like Kokumo and Regan were foreshadowers of this new type of humanity. In a vision, Merrin asks Lamont to watch over Regan. Lamont and Regan return to the old house in Georgetown. The pair are followed by Tuskin and Sharon, concerned about Regan's safety. En route, Pazuzu tempts Lamont by offering him unlimited power, appearing as a succubus doppelgänger of Regan. Lamont initially succumbs to the demon but is brought back by Regan and attacks the Regan doppelgänger while a swarm of locusts deluge the pair and the entire house begins to crumble around them. However, Lamont manages to kill the Regan doppelgänger by beating open its chest and pulling out its heart. In the end, Regan banishes the locusts (and Pazuzu) by enacting the same ritual attempted by Kokumo to get rid of locusts in Africa (although he failed and was possessed). Outside the house, Sharon dies from burn injuries after she immolates herself and Tuskin tells Lamont to watch over Regan. Regan and Lamont leave and Tuskin remains at the house to answer the police's questions. Before now, I never even knew that this sequel existed. So, it was actually really interesting to watch! I really think it was an interesting twist on the idea of a demon, the fact that Regan wound up being a "good demon," well, for lack of a better term. Also, as an overall viewpoint, I think the acting got much better from the first to the second film, so that's good. So did the graphics, mostly, so it was more eye-pleasing to the audience. I might even recommend this movie more than I would the original. Wow, a sequel that was actually better than the original?? Well, for me it was! And, lastly, my major complaint was still the immense cursing & sexual references; thankfully, there was less than the previous film.

The Exorcist III~
The film begins with the point of view of someone wandering through the streets of Georgetown, a voice informing us "I have dreams... of a rose... and of falling down a long flight of stairs". The point of view shows a warning of evil about to arrive later that night at a church. Demonic growls are heard, leaves and other street trash suddenly come flying into the church as a crucifix comes to life. It then cuts to Lieutenant William F. Kinderman at a crime scene, where a 12-year-old boy named Thomas Kintry has been murdered. Kinderman takes his friend, a priest named Father Dyer, out to see their mutually favorite film It's a Wonder Life. Kinderman later relates the gruesome details of the murder of the young boy he was investigating that morning, including his crucifixion. Another murder soon takes place; a priest found decapitated in a church. Dyer is shortly hospitalized and found murdered the next day, with the words "IT'S A WONDERFULL LIFE" written on a wall in Dyer's blood. At each murder scene, the fingerprints at the crime scenes do not match up, indicating a different person was responsible for each. Kinderman tells hospital staff the reason for his unease; fifteen years ago the vicious serial killer, "The Gemini", was executed; with every victim he cut off the right index finger and carved the Zodiac sign of Gemini into the palm of their left hand. Kinderman noticed the hands of the three new victims and verified that the Gemini's sign has been there. The Gemini Killer also always used an extra "L" in his notes sent to the media, such as "usefull" or "carefull". Furthermore, to filter out false confessions, the original Gemini Killer's true mutilations were kept a secret by the Richmond police's homemade department; the newspapers were made to wrongfully report that the left middle finger was severed and that the Gemini sign was carved on the back of the victim. Kinderman visits the head of the psychiatric ward, Dr. Temple, who relates the history of a man in Cell 11, that he was found wandering aimlessly fifteen years ago with amnesia. The man was locked up, catatonic up until recently when he began to be violent and claim to be the Gemini Killer. Kinderman sees that the patient resembles his dead friend, Father Damien Karras. However the patient brags of being the Gemini Killer, expressing ignorance over who Father Karras is, and boasts of killing Father Dyer. The next morning, a nurse and Dr. Temple are found dead. Kinderman returns to see the patient in Cell 11, who claims to be the Gemini Killer's spirit, revealing that after his execution his soul entered Karras's dying body. The demon Pazuzu, who had possessed the girl Regan MacNeil, was furious at being pushed out of the child's body and is exacting its revenge by putting the soul of the Gemini Killer into the body of Father Karras. Each evening, the soul of the Gemini leaves the body of Karras and possesses the elderly people with denial dementia elsewhere in the hospital and uses them to commit the murders. The Gemini Killer also reveals to have forced Dr. Temple to bring Kinderman to him or he would suffer in unspeakable ways — Temple believed his apparent bluff, however, he couldn't take the pressure, and so he committed suicide. The Gemini possesses an old woman who makes a failed attempt to murder Julie, Kinderman's daughter. The possessed patient attacks Kinderman, but the attack abruptly ends when a priest, Father Paul Morning, enters the corridor leading to cell 11 and attempts an exorcism on the patient. It goes wrong when Pazuzu intervenes, taking over the patient's body, and the priest is all but slain. Kinderman arrives in time and attempts to euthanize Karras after finding the body of the priest, only to be hurled into the wall by the possessed Karras. Father Morning manages to briefly regain consciousness and tells Karras "Damien. Fight him." Karras regains his free will briefly and cries to Kinderman "Bill, now, shoot now, kill me now!". Kinderman fires his revolver several times, hitting Karras in the chest, fatally wounding him. The Gemini is now gone and Karras is finally free. With weak breaths, he says "We won, Bill, now free me". Kinderman puts his revolver against Karras' head and fires. The film ends with Kinderman standing over Karras' grave. This movie was a major twist from the original two, but it was also fun since it had an air of a "murder mystery." But it was also interesting because it still had a connection to the original storyline. It was also fun of to watch the acting had gotten a lot better so it was perfectly dramatic.

Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist~
Many years before the events in The Exorcist, the young Father Lankester Merrin travels to East Africa. Merrin has taken a sabbatical from the Church and devoted himself to history and archaeology as he struggles with his shattered faith. He is haunted especially by an incident in a small village in occupied Holland during World War II, where he served as parish priest. Near the end of the war, a sadistic Nazi SS commander, in retaliation for the murder of a German trooper, forces Merrin to participate in arbitrary executions in order to save a full village from slaughter. In 1947, Merrin is an archaeologist in the Turkana region of Kenya excavating a Christian Byzantine church built around the 5th century — long before Christianity had reached that region of Africa. He meets up with Father Francis, a Maryknoll missionary appointed to ensure that the church is not desecrated, and Major Granville, the British military officer overseeing the dig. In the village, Merrin meets Rachel, a doctor who spent time in a concentration camp during World War II and is haunted by what happened to her there. Merrin's translator and guide is Chuma. Merrin takes Francis on a tour of the dig site. Only the dome is uncovered; the rest of the church is yet buried beneath the earth. Merrin discovers to his surprise that the church is in perfect condition, as though it had been deliberately buried immediately after its construction was completed. Merrin hires more men to uncover the church's walls; as excavation continues, one of the diggers inexplicably experiences a seizure, which was however dismissed as simple heat-stroke. On the site, Merrin meets a shy, physically-deformed young boy named Cheche, shunned and mistreated by the local tribespeople for fear that he is cursed. Although dissuaded by Chuma, Merrin attempts to make contact with Cheche, eventually finding him again at the village, sleeping outside in the rain. He brings the boy to the infirmary, where Rachel looks after him. That night, Merrin has a disturbing dream featuring several nightmarish images (one of which is the face of Pazuzu's 'true form' from The Exorcist). Once the door is uncovered, Merrin, Francis, and Chuma go inside the church, finding it to be also in near-pristine condition. Francis however points out an oddity: churches were built to honor God and thus, usually reached up to the heavens, whereas this building seems as if it is restraining something below it. They find a passageway leading to an underground crypt beneath the church, where they find demonic icons and signs of human sacrifice. Merrin deduces that the church was built and then buried in order to hold this older pagan temple down. On their way back, they find that hyenas (who have appeared out of season) were somehow killed and then eaten by a herd of herbivorous cattle. The chiefs of the local tribesmen, fearing that the church is evil, demands Merrin to stop the excavation. Father Francis then contacts Major Granville to send a detachment to guard the dig from potential robbers, despite Merrin's objections. Two British soldiers attempting to loot some precious stones from the church are then found murdered the next day in a strange fashion (one was beheaded, the other crucified to the altar head downward). Granville blames the tribesmen for the attempted robbery and the murders. Meanwhile Cheche, who had just received an operation in his right leg, is healing at an unusually quick pace. Granville then appears at the village in a rage, demanding the local chiefs to give up the purported murderers, even shooting an innocent civilian in cold blood. Francis is wracked with guilt for summoning the British troops to the village. Things get worse when a tribesman, Jomo, assaults Francis and slaughters the children attending the village school under the pretext of stopping the 'Christian evil' from spreading but is caught in the act and shot. Francis and Rachel note Cheche's speedy recovery and think that it must be a miraculous sign. As Francis prays over the boy, however, he quickly realizes (to his discomfort) that it was not a sign from God but something sinister. He then considers the idea of baptizing Cheche; the boy accepts on the condition that it be held at the church. Meanwhile, the visibly disturbed Granville shoots himself, but not before saying about how he finally knows what Merrin had been going through and that there was no way out for him except to commit suicide. The Sergeant Major relays this message to Merrin, noting at the same time how Grenville's actions at the village were strangely out-of-character. As the locals prepare to wage war against the British troops, Francis, assisted by Rachel, attempts to baptize Cheche at the church but is prevented by the demon controlling Cheche from doing so. Realizing that an exorcism is in order, Francis leaves quickly to fetch his copy of the Roman Ritual. The demon then gains full control of the boy, transforming him into a hairless, androgynous being. An earthquake then seals off the entrance to the church, trapping Rachel and Cheche inside. Merrin asks for the doors to be cleared, but the Sergeant Major (who had assumed command of the troops after Granville's death) postpones his request for daybreak. The next morning Merrin and the British find Francis tied to a tree naked, shot with arrows. The dying Francis reveals to Merrin that Cheche is being possessed and requests that he conduct an exorcism. As Merrin makes his way back at the excavation site, another earthquake shifts the rocks blocking the doors, allowing him to go inside. At the crypt, Merrin finds Rachel – who runs away under a trance – and the now-possessed Cheche. When the demon confronts Merrin over his doubt and offers him a chance to clear himself of his guilt, Merrin dashes back to the infirmary to get Francis' vestments and the Roman Ritual, having regained faith in God. Returning to the crypt, Merrin, now garbed as a priest, begins the exorcism, as the demon once more promises him a chance to change his past. In a hallucination, Merrin finds himself reliving the incident at Holland: despite attempting to change what happened by refusing to cooperate with the Germans, his efforts are proved to be in vain as the troops kill Merrin and all the villagers in retaliation for his defiance. Back to the present, the demon mocks Merrin for his futile attempt. As Merrin attempts to proceed with the exorcism, an aurora appears in the sky as the entranced Rachel attempts to kill herself and the tribesmen charge to battle. Despite the evil spirit's attempts to thwart Merrin, the latter eventually succeeds in driving him out, ending the madness; Cheche regresses to his former condition as the demon leaves his body. At the end of the movie, the British troops are packing up to leave the village, as the locals finally live in peace. As Merrin himself prepares to depart, one of the local chiefs wishes him strength, while warning that the demon is now his enemy and will continue to pursue him. Merrin then makes his way to the infirmary (briefly stopping by Francis' grave) to bid farewell to Rachel and Cheche, now serving as Rachel's assistant. After receiving a rosary from Rachel as a parting gift, Merrin, now an active priest once more, leaves for Rome. This was another interesting movie in the franchise. Of course, as I learned from the Scream series (teehee) the 4th installment of any horror franchise usually deals with a Prequel. This one was a good one to watch since we'd already been seeing images of Pazuzu, and the whole story's beginnings since the very first film. I also loved the ending twist that the girl, not the boy, was actually the person possessed by a demon. Overall, fantastic acting & generally good graphics to watch.

Pet Sematary Two~
Totally had no clue that this movie existed, so it was absolutely necessary to watch before anything else! Following the accidental death of his mother, Renee, during production of her latest movie, thirteen year old Jeff Matthews and his father, Chase, a veterinarian, move to Ludlow, Maine. Jeff soon learns about the Creed family and the cursed Indian burial ground. After his friend Drew's dog, Zowie, is shot by Drew's stepfather, Gus Gilbert, the town sheriff, Jeff and Drew bury Zowie at the burial ground in an attempt to bring him back to life. The dog returns from the dead, but is unusually fierce, and his eyes have an unnatural glow to them even in daylight. Zowie is treated for his gunshot wound by Chase, who finds that the wound is not healing and Zowie has no heartbeat. Chase sends a blood sample to a lab and learns that Zowie's cells have completely deteriorated and are no different from those of a dead canine. Jeff and Drew go to the pet cemetery on Halloween for a night of horror stories about the Creed murders when Gus comes looking for Drew and punches him. Before Gus can hit his stepson with one of the gravemarkers, Zowie rushes out of the shadows and kills the abusive, overzealous sheriff with a bite to the jugular. The boys bury Gus in the burial ground. Gus returns to life, but now exhibits stiff movements and treats Drew more fairly, but remains mostly silent and in a zombie-like state. Soon, he becomes more crude and sadistic, such as when he raped Drew's mother, or when he brutally skins his pet rabbits for supper. Zowie breaks out of the veterinary clinic and kills three cats before entering Chase's home and attacking him. Chase survives with an injured arm, but is shaken. Jeff and a bully, Clyde Parker, get into a fight in a ditch. Jeff is about to have his nose cut off by the spokes of his own bike when Gus shows up. Gus orders Jeff to go home, then kills Clyde with his own motorcycle (his scarf gets caught in the moving rear-wheel, pulling his head and face into the spokes, tearing it apart) and notices that Drew witnessed the whole killing. Gus traps Drew inside his house with Zowie, who has gone completely savage. Drew escapes through an upstairs window and gets in the car of his arriving mother. Gus chases them down the highway with his police car, killing them by forcing them to collide with a truck. Gus returns to Clyde's corpse with a police shovel and body bag, saying "I'm takin' you up the hill, Clyde, buddy. That's the way the Indians did it." Later the News talks that there`s a funeral for Amanda and Drew and that Clyde was "missing" and that his motorcycle was found. Jeff becomes obsessed with reanimating his mother. He has Gus exhume her corpse, and meets him at the Indian burial ground to re-bury her. His father is told that his wife has been removed from her grave by Gus. Chase rushes to Gus' house and is attacked by Zowie but manages to kill the undead dog. He enters Gus' house only to find the dead man waiting for him. Shooting Gus in his chest has little effect on him, and just as Gus is about to kill Chase with an electric drill, Chase retrieves his gun and shoots Gus through the head, killing him. Jeff's mother has come back to life. She stabs and kills Chase's housekeeper, Marjorie Hargrove, in the attic. Chase arrives and finds Marjorie's body as well as his son embracing his undead wife. He is unmoved by Renee and tells Jeff to get away from her. Renee then asks Jeff to go downstairs so she and Chase can "talk". An undead Clyde then arrives armed with an ax, and fights Jeff. Chase gets knocked out by Clyde`s ax, and Renee locks everyone in the attic and sets the place on fire. Before Clyde can kill Jeff with an iceskate, Jeff defeats the undead bully by sticking a severed electrical cable in his mouth, causing his head to explode. Jeff then grabs Clyde`s ax and chops down the attic door and grabs his unconscious father. As they escape Renee tries to convince Jeff to stay by muttering, "I love you," but Jeff gets himself and his father out of the attic, leaving his mother to die in the flames. As Renee burns, she screams out "Dead is better!". Jeff and Chase move out of Ludlow to start a new life back in Los Angeles. As Jeff and his dad leave Ludlow, the film ends with pictures of everybody that died like Gus, Marjorie, Clyde, Amanda and Drew and also Renee along with an earlier conversation between Jeff and Drew before Gus kills Drew and his mom. Another great sequel. Just as the original, an animal is freaking KILLED & it's so depressing, this time a cute/pretty dog! And, the owner, a young boy, has to bury it! It was just so depressing. I was pretty pissed that the school kids were so rude to everyone, and the the officers was an asshole- I was so happy he died- too bad they brought him back to life. Sadly, in the end, the best friend and his mom were killed. It was also pretty sad when the main little boy had to kill his own mother in order to make things right. But everything ended happily! Well, except that one of the kids was brought back to life and he never made a reappearance. Hmm, so what happened to him?? Overall, great, yet sad movie with good acting.

These past couple weeks of Horror Films were all about the classics! And now that that's taken care of, it's time to move onto some more interesting movie choices (for me)!

Sincerely Yours,
Lisette Monique Diaz
